Just wanted to say when you are going through your normal day today, try to remember the victims of 9/11 and keep their family members and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Maybe if you want just say what you were doing 7 years ago today.

I was walkig from Statistics to Drafting my senior year of high school. That was 1st to 2nd period and we then spent the rest of the day glued to the tv watching the news.

New to the board here since 9/11 last year, so have not posted this before. If saying a prayer to NYPD and NYFD for their valiant efforts and their nobility/sacrifice, also include in that prayer the Port Authority Police Department. They actually were the police for the World Trade Center, and were just as noble in their sacrifice. My cousin was married to one. He called her during the event after rescuing a few people to the outside, and said this does not look good and I love you -- and then went back into the WTC (along with others) to try to rescue more -- unfortunately he did not come out again.

Where was I? Was in the middle of a catheterization for an acute heart attack. Primary doctor asked for a TV to be rolled into the cath lab so we could keep working while the devastation rolled.

I work for Delta and I was off that day - I took my wife to work that day and was driving home when I heard the DJs play by play of the 2nd plane. I'll never forget that they described it as a small passenger plane (later confirmed as a 767, which is no small passenger plane).

I was teaching 8th grade history...2 weeks later I was in the Middle East.

Has it been 7 years?

I was at work in our morning support team meeting when one of my co-workers came in and said a plane just flew into the WTC. At first we all though it was just an accident or a commuter plane and then of course more and more news starting coming in. My girlfriend, now wife, was studying abroad in France for her senior year and we spent almost the whole day on AIM talking about what was happening.

Hard to believe it's been 7 years since 9/11 and that I've been out of school that long.

Thanks for sharing that story.

I was a junior at Tech, getting ready for my morning Thermodynamics class.

A freshman in high school, sitting in Lit. The teacher next door came in with a white face to tell us two planes had hit the WTC. She was my next class so we watched the buildings collapse in her room.

We had a bomb threat later that afternoon and most people stayed home the next day.

I was repairing an ECG machine when I heard one of the doctors say a plane flew into the trade center. At the time I thought they were referring to the center on Hutchison Island across the Savannah River. When I got back to the shop, we spent most of the afternoon watching the news.

I was wiring up a bunch of work stations on the 2nd floor of the Raleigh Police Department. They actually had it on their main television and it was crazy watching the second plane fly into the building live.
