Renfree to Duke.

So, he doesn't want to play in a triple option system, but he wants to lose consistently and without mercy?

Are we still sad that he decommited now?

This might be a trend we will see more & more over the next few years. Coach Cutcliff is an outstanding recruiter and I believe we will soon be competing with Duke more than before for recruits who are excellent students as well as excellent athletes.

(No offense meant for Coach Roof.)

To Hell With Georgia!

personally I don't want a guy PJ dissed to play against us,esp at QB ,even at doook
on paper he is great,he was to be for us and now could be for them

Who was sad that he decommitted? As far as Tech football is concerned, he doesn't fit the system. Don't need him, don't want him.

I wouldn't necessarily write him off. Cutcliffe not only helped the Mannings, he also worked a little magic with Tee Martin. The guy knows the QB position.

If he ends up being a Matt Ryan type player for Duke you guys might be a little sad.

what does this comment help? he doesnt fit the TO style of play. he DOES fit the mold of a QB that will drop back and rip passes all around, not unlike a Peyton Manning who also was tutured by Cutcliff. I think making derogatory comments about young men because they choose a SCHOOL which actually has academics despite the fact that the FB team is not that great is just stupid. we are the SAME THING. we should applaud Renfree for picking a school and not a joke of an education for athletes like UGA

I wish Renfree the best and dont understand why you put him down for no apparent reason other than sour grapes, it seems

I wish Renfree the best for any game not against GT and dont understand why you put him down for no apparent reason other than sour grapes, it seems

Fixed.

Other than that, completely agree with you. You can't force a square peg into a round hole, no matter how many stars that peg might have. He didn't fit. It was for his and our best interests that he go elsewhere. He went to a coach who has a proven track record of developing QBs and getting them to the pros. He has stated all along that's what he wanted. If he is a great QB, he will make it to the pros regardless of how crappy his team does. But, I have the feeling he will make his team better, and we will see Duke begin to crawl out of the cellar...

Don't get your panties in a bunch, it was a joke. Yes, at least he went to a school that places academics as something other then an after thought. For that, I thoroughly commend him. Perhaps he'll have great success, and as long as it is not against Tech, I hope he does. I guess this does raise the stock of the ACC.

I'm a little surprised he didn't get a better offer (one that he may have been more inclined to accept, for you morons) out West to play winning football somewhere but there's no denying he has a solid education ahead of him. Probably a smart decision from a smart kid. They'll definitely be passing at Dook and Cutcliffe has tutored two Super Bowl NFL QBs (by the name of Manning). Go figure.

I understand that he was actually contacted by several schools after decommitting (Nebraska, Northwestern, Wisconsin, to name a few) but didn't feel like they were a good fit for him for one reason or another so didn't take visits there.
