the Clemson right tackle at the top of your TV screen jumping into the neutral zone right before the snap. By the way, he did not get back onsides before the snap. The sorry ACC zebra was looking right at it and did not throw the flag. I have always thought the ACC officials are the sorriest group of any major conference. I thought the play Hester made should have been a no call and I have seen them on more than one occassion drop hankies on the ground when they should leave them in their pocket.

Clemson seems to get alot of home cooking from the refs every time we play up there. Glover was obviously interfered with on his first pass play on GT's first offensive series. He wound up with zero receptions for the game.

If you look close, I believe our left tackle had a false start prior to the snap as well. That should have killed the play and may be the reason the Clemson defender jumped into the nuetral zone.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Hester's off hand was on the receiver. He gets his hand off the receiver and its a no call. They call that pass intereference every time in the NFL and will in college too.

Come on guys.....get over it! We sound like ugag fans with all our pissing and moaning over missed calls. BYU is this weekend. Lets all hope for a flawless GT performance on Saturday.

Go Jackets!

Calls did not determine the game.....BUT

There were three specific calls (one was the interference that has been mentioned), all at somewhat critical times in the game, that the announcers strongly disagreed with - all against Tech....

I don't necessarily think the refs were specifically going against Tech, I think we were the victims (this time around) of the usual HORRIBLE ACC officiating......This time around we were unlucky - it could go either way...

I've said it many times before and will say again, but ACC officials are the worse I have ever seen in football, pro or college, in ~ 40 years of watching football.....

Gold Rush,
I agree with you...ACC officials are truly pathetic. Sometimes SEC officials seem worse when you play an SEC team because many times it seems that they will favor an SEC team. ACC offcials don't normally seem to favor a team...they are just incompetent. The klimpsum game was poorly officiated and many of the key calls or no-calls hurt TECH but I don't think they were biased...I think they were just incompetent.

Agreed...Plus, I have noticed that they'll huddle together, seemingly endlessly, over something that seems simple.....When this happens, and with other situations in a game, they just seem to lose control over a game ---&gt; like they simply don't know what they are doing, or they don't have a firm grasp of certian rules/situations...

They never cease to amaze me in their incompetence

I hate to disagree on this thread but the Officials did end up determing who the winner would be. Maybe the big Liar told them to favor his son since he appears to be in trouble up there and no I'm not pi-- and moaning but there were several call that did favore the liars son.

The worst thing is, I saw the offsides from my seat in the UPPER DECK. I completely agree that Tech had PLENTY of chances, but look at it like this... you really can say that a blown call cost us one last shot at the game. And I saw another post claiming that Kerry Watkins was held on the play. So, the officials missed an offsides AND a defensive holding/pass interference on the play that kill us. You can't blame officials for the whole game, but you can blame them for stealing that last drive from us.

I have not re-reviewed the tape to see if TECH's line flinched (I did not notice it before) but the klimpsum end does kind of jump and stick his helmet in the neutral zone...he doesn't step across the line but he leans forward....but in real time it is bang-bang right as the ball is being snapped. You can see it in slow motion but it is just barely before the ball is snapped...would be a very close call in real time.
Also our intended receiver was held up somewhat but the tape does not have a real good view of it to see how flagrant it was. All in all, if it had been the other way around, we would have probably wanted a no-call in both instances...just as klimpsum does.
Overall the officiating in the game was fairly poor.

My 2 cents...

The game should never have been close enough to come down to a call. We honestly didn't play good enough to win. If we had won, we'd all be thinking, "Man, we got away with one there." Play better, and this thread is a non-issue.

We didn't deserve to win????....what kind of horshiite is that????
We damne sure deserved to win....and we would have won in spite of Buck and in spite of everything else if we don't throw over the middle in a crowd when it was unnecessary.
Are you also saying that we shouldn't have won all those comebacks with Godsey and Hamilton???

clubbe...forest clubbe...you really do have your head up your arse don't you?

Jesus...stop insulting people and face facts for once.

We played like crap. You want to deny that? When you play like crap, you usually don't win. That's all I said. I didn't say anything about deserving...I said we didn't play good enough to win. And no, I don't have my head up you.

You're letting your emotions overrule your ability to think. Not that you have ever seemed to have that ability...

The officiating was horrible at best.
I could count at least three times that the
commentators on TV were "amused" at calls against Tech....Especially that interference call, amoung others....I didn't hear anything like that with calls against clemmons.....Again, this time we came up short on the calls --&gt; Its completely random as far as bad calls, UNLESS we play on Tobacco road, in which case, it doesn't appear random at ALL.....

let me settle this...

The calls were horrible and they did hurt us more than Clem's son.

The pass should have never been thrown. I don't think our quarterback saw the field very well, threw the ball away when he needed too, etc. You can't blame that on the coaches. We had to score a TD in the time left and were unlikely to do that running the ball.

The coaches can help the QB by giving him simpler situations, simpler reads, rolling him out, etc.

Next topic.

wise?1,
Maybe if the o-line coach had taught our o-line to block, even a simple 3 or 4 man rush, then the QB would have had time to do those things. That is coaching (or lack thereof).
Next topic.

Beeware,

Your reply is right on. The O line looked lost in the valley. Basic technique does not change from coach to coach, but imho reps perfect skills.

GT played lousy in all facets. The Zebras are not the reason for this loss. Let's be there to cheer tomorrow.

I will be there...probably in the rain again. Let us hope we get at least a little bit of coaching out there tomorrow.

The calls come and go.In the VA game in which we won 41-38 the refs missed an obvious clip on us that would have negated one of our long TDs.
Our play quality SAT wasn't good enough to complain about some "gray" calls as the reason for our loss. -imo
