Techrod/Big Buck,

I appreciate your insights and echo belly's sentiments about you weighing in on the recruits. Both of you seem to have more knowledge than most posting opinions about what is going on. Now that I have laid it on thick

, I was wondering if one or both of you would do an evaluation on Feb. 5th. After the signing activity is over, you could give us an overall take on the class as well as the potential players to look for. The more I read about R. Grant, the more important he becomes (and K. Scott as well). Thanks.

(Others in the know, feel free to add your thoughts as well...)

GT98, I surely will. I think the Grant kid is a stud. I hope he recovers from his injury. The WR from Texas {Taylor} is crucial and so is Kenny Scott. We have a few uncommitted that could swing our class from average to above average. I wish we had continued to recruit Skyler Thornton and Tashard Choice. As almost all of us know Choice wanted to come to Tech and our offer to him was pulled but it seems now that he will go to either
Oklahoma or ND. Another kid that wanted to come to Tech but was dropped was David Price, a 6'5" 315 pound OL from Tampa, Florida who is rated by Rivals as the number 34 player in Fla. Keep in mind that all ratings are subjective but they do give us a yardstick to judge these kids on. I just
hope and pray that we can close with a rush. As everyone knows I have been very critical of Chan but there is no one that wishes him success more than I. If Chan does turn this thing around I will come front and center and acknowledge that I was mistaken. No one will have to look for me.

We'll see how it turns out. Rankings and such don't mean a hill of beans. Like what I see so far in the young men committed to us. Not just saying that to be WOOO HOOO about GT and recruiting. Really like what I see to this point with a ways to go.

The Arnold kid is perfect example of the recruiting sites not always keeping up with everything in recruiting. I don't believe Gregg Garrett knew he had visited. Dont' believe he was counted in Greg's 29.

They all do a super job, but recruiting is such that you just don't know about everything. No way you can. We don't know at this point how many young men have visited officially. The number will be very similar to O'leary's (since everyone likes to bring him up) first full year at GT.

We don't know how many kids have visited like Arnold. In my opinion we don't have to either. Hearing about recruiting can fill the air with a buzz. Until we hit the field and win things are going to be extremely negative regardless of what happens in recruiting. Could be wrong about that. hope I am.

Like how this class is shaping up with what seems like a long way to go till signing day.

That being said. You never know about recruiting. Have to get the kids that are the best fit. We'll find out down the road how good this class will be. There is such a jump from HS to College. We've had what I felt were super classes in recent years, but a lot of those players aren't at GT now.

Have a VERY good feeling about who has committed to GT at this point!

There looks to be some heavy hitters left that we're working on. DBs is such a need. Morgan and Scott would be huge! Not sure who else is on the board at DB at this time other than them.

Jackets! Jackets!! Jackets!!
