Resodded Field?

I don’t know if it was mentioned in the game thread or earlier, but does anyone know why the middle of the field was resodded? Looked like the new sod was struggling at the past few games.

I didn’t remember the field looking bad in earlier games.

They said the area between the hashes was not holding up well and was becoming an issue.

Somebody obviously screwed up. It has never looked as bad as it does now, and there have been plenty of years we have played 2-3 games in a row and not had it look so bad.

They r dumb. U cant plant bermuda when they did and expect it to root. Its a joke. I mentioned this on another thread when they did it smh. Its going to get torn up worse and slipping etc than jf they just left it.

Perhaps overseeding with rye would have helped. At least we'd have a bit of green

I wouldn’t say they are dumb. Our grounds crew has won multiple awards for their playing surfaces.

It looked bad against VT after resod. My guess is they painted it for NCST (couldn't be sure, but there was not as obvious a "stripe" down center of field) for that game. Are there reports or anything leading in to COFH that there are issues?

Didn’t explain why we played on a Saturday, the waited 9 days to sod before a cold snap. I don’t recall many guys slipping or problems, but it doesn’t look very good.

We used to walk across it after games when I was a kid. Wasn't a big deal getting out there. It felt like a parking lot with a thin layer of fake carpet rolled over it. I was always amazed guys got tackled on it

That field was hard as a rock. Concrete with outdoor carpet on top.
