I like him as a person, but not as a coach. But having said that, recruiting alone can make you appear to be a great coach. And it is the bottom line that counts. Ga has always been an outstanding state for recruits. UGA has always done well, even with the likes of Donnan, a no personality guy, and Goff who could not coach a lick. Now with our problems of recruiting academic qualified players in the state, even if we are successful with our national strategy, it opens the state even more for uga. I think anyone could do pretty good over there. But this team, and I do not want to sound like sour grapes, has to be the luckiest team I have ever witnessed. They could have losses to SC, CLemson, Bama, Tenn, and Auburn save for one unusual play in each game. Incredible winning that many close games. They could just as easy be 5-6 and everyone calling for the coaches head. Have to give them credit for coming out the winner each time, doing what it took, but geez, they should probably be 7-4 or 8-3 at best. They are however a very good team with balance, no real obvious weaknesses. And I see them continuing with success this year. They should beat us at their place, will get not the best team in SEC champ game in Atlanta, Bama, who is on probation. Another break for them in that beating a team like Bama twice in same year very tough job. But they will get Arkansas or LSU. Like I said I like him, but do not think he is a great coach, but the sun is shining on him now. Next year may be different.
