Its gonna happen. When Bobby crashes and burns against Fla but still makes the Sugar against the Dawgs, Saint Mark will be auditioning against the Big B himself. FSU fans are livid with team and Bowden's performance this year again. Gotta make a change soon...

Any of our new Dawg posters heard about this???

I still think that Jeff Bowden will get a "probationary" period before FSU looks outside of the current staff.

I believe BB will have to die on the field before they get him out of there anyway.

I wouldn't count on Richt returning. Never follow a legend.

I agree with you Goldmember... for some reason, FSU doesnt seem to care much for Richt, and I think his returning to FSU is a long shot .. I know some on this board have disagreed with me in terms of Richt being a "great" coach... but I still dont think he is...

I like him as a person, but not as a coach. But having said that, recruiting alone can make you appear to be a great coach. And it is the bottom line that counts. Ga has always been an outstanding state for recruits. UGA has always done well, even with the likes of Donnan, a no personality guy, and Goff who could not coach a lick. Now with our problems of recruiting academic qualified players in the state, even if we are successful with our national strategy, it opens the state even more for uga. I think anyone could do pretty good over there. But this team, and I do not want to sound like sour grapes, has to be the luckiest team I have ever witnessed. They could have losses to SC, CLemson, Bama, Tenn, and Auburn save for one unusual play in each game. Incredible winning that many close games. They could just as easy be 5-6 and everyone calling for the coaches head. Have to give them credit for coming out the winner each time, doing what it took, but geez, they should probably be 7-4 or 8-3 at best. They are however a very good team with balance, no real obvious weaknesses. And I see them continuing with success this year. They should beat us at their place, will get not the best team in SEC champ game in Atlanta, Bama, who is on probation. Another break for them in that beating a team like Bama twice in same year very tough job. But they will get Arkansas or LSU. Like I said I like him, but do not think he is a great coach, but the sun is shining on him now. Next year may be different.

It just does not have the right ring to it, "Jeff Bowden" to replace his Dad. Jeff has nothing to fall back on other than being the OC, and he has not distinguished himself in that position.

I don't believe Tater Tot would be a high candidate, and Terry has lost a little sheen off his candidacy. My guess would be Terry if a Bowden was chosen, and I would assume Richt would be in the hunt if he finishes the season at Georgia on a high note.

I don't think Amato will leave NCSU, and I don't think Mickey Andrews has a snowball's chance.

I can't see any of the Bowden boys taking the reins either. I'd say a slight possibility at best just to humor Daddy. I would think Richt would be the logical choice and the odds on favorite. I don't think he's a great coach but two things about Richt are that he's young and he's smart. His record at UGAg has been fairly impressive, albeit lucky, and with a couple of years of competitive D1 experience under the belt he'll probably be ready for a move, if he's going to make one. His best coaching is still ahead of him. I can't see FSU screwing around when Bobber hangs it up. I think they'll go for a permanent, full-time replacement and that would be Richt's best chance to move unless he's so enamored of Athens that you couldn't pry him away.

I think Richt would be foolish to leave UGA for FSU. There is the "following a legend" element which someone mentioned, plus in many ways UGA is sitting prettiest of all the SEC schools. Georgia is a RICH state for recruiting, but with our entrance requirements and, most of all, extremely limited curriculum, we can only compete for a few in-staters. Meanwhile, every other SEC school either is in a small state (South Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee) or has fierce in-state competition among 1-A schools, or both.

In fact, UGA, over the last 40 years, is the most under-achieving of all football schools, given their huge recruiting advantages.

I think the 'necks had be better worried about the end of THIS year. If Solich is kicked out of Lincoln, the Huskers might come up with the big bucks to lure Richt.

I don't think UGAg has the $$ to get into a bidding war.

GO JACKETS!!
