He was one of the life presevers in August 1968 for us incoming GT Freshmen football players as Jerry Glanville introduced to the speed & conditioning levels required to play at that level. He was never hesitant to take on challenges or to be a pioneer, e.g., Womens Basketball & AD at GT. RIP Jim.

Thanks for posting about him, nice to hear from someone who knew him. He sounds like someone we would all admire if we were old enough to know more about him.

Jim was a friend when I was a student. He was running the intramural program and I took my team's application in for basketball. He asked me the name of my team and I told him I didn't know because I hadn't really thought about it. He asked me to use the name of his old intramural team, "We Try", so I agreed. We won the overall that year. My brother took the team the next year and won it again. Jim was really "down to earth" and treated everybody well.
