Looking at the mug shot of the son-in-law, something just doesn't add up. The house looked fine, but the S-I-L looked like bad news, like "How did he end up married to Mike's daughter?"
Just speculating, but maybe that's why Mike & the Mrs. had paid a call on them. Something was rotten in Gadsden or Attalla. I imagine it'll be on some late night crime show in a couple of years. Write your own script for this one.
