Durant Brooks is the #3 specialist again this week. But why is Bell not on the list? Are there really 20 specialists (P, K, Return guys) performing better than Bell this year? I don't think so.

Rivals. Ratings. Bell overlooked.

Aren't these the same guys that do recruiting ratings and rankings?

:pat:

Just looking through current NCAA stats:

Based upon FG's per game, Bell ranks #2 behind Waters (UAB's kicker). They are both 12-13 but because UAB has played only four games to GT's five, Waters FG/Gm is higher.

Among kickers only, Bell ranks #6 in scoring.
(side: Geez, Crabtree from Texas Tech already has 14 TD's).

Brooks ranks #2 in punting behind Weigand of UVA.

CBuzz, can you tell how many placekickers made the list this week? Did Weber from ASU make the list --he's 10-10 in FG's but his FG/Gm and Total Points are not as good as Bell.

Swank #5 (Rivals comments: Swank has connected on both FG attempts this season, CBuzz comments: Swank "goes both ways" but his punting has really dropped off this year he's clearly not performing the same as last season)
Succop #6
Serna (Oregon State) #9
Carmody #10
Waters #13
Hartley (Oklahoma) #14
Coutu #16

Wow --Bell 12-13 6th scoring among kickers
and Weber (ASU) 10-10 tied with Bell for 6th were ridiculous omissions.

Here's the numbers on the others:

Swank 2-2, >52nd in scoring among kickers
Succop 6-8, >52nd
Serna 3-5, >52nd
Carmody 7-9, 12th
Waters 12-13, 2nd
Hartley 4-5, 19th
Couto 8-11, 23rd

note: >52 --there were 52 kickers on the total scoring list, and these names were not amongst them.
