I have yet to see a logical argument of why our team is going to fall off the face of the earth next season. However, it a foregone conclusion to pretty much everyone that we will next year. I guess going from a team with a struggling offense and good defense for the past 7 years to a team with a struggling offense and a good defense this year is a HUGE change, lmao.
I think GT is better than 73rd, but I can still give you a logical argument why we might be 73rd this year.
#1, Our offense. We've never ran CPJ's offense, and the spring showed, until we get good at it, we might have some problems. That might take until next year.
#2, We have unproven players all over our back 7. 3 new starters on secondary who haven't played much, and 1 or 2 new guys at LB.
#3, we have a new DC. Who knows, his schemes might not work, he might not be a good DC with GT. It's happened before (Roof).
#4 we lost the nations #1 punter, and an All-ACC FG kicker.
#5, GT wasn't that good last year. We beat 1 team with a winning record, and were destroyed by a middling Fresno St. in our last game.
There are 5 logical arguments why we might fall off the face of the earth this season. I don't think it'll happen, but it mgiht.
