I turned on my tablet, a Kindle Fire, to a cheery message that said, "Alexa is on your Kindle!" It explained that Alexa is the Amazon version of Siri. Not a big deal by this time. But it insisted I "try it by holding down the home button and asking, 'What is the weather.'" I did that, and Alexa's quasi-feminine voice told me Atlanta's weather. Then I tried it on other questions--easy questions--and she said things like, "Hmm, I don't understand that one." Fine. Great stuff, Amazon.
Then I tried, "Who is the Georgia Tech football coach," and Alexa quickly replied, "The Georgia Tech football coach is Mike MacIntyre." Even had his picture and a link. MacIntyre is the Colorado football coach, but I noticed he played football for and earned his degree from . . . Georgia Tech, in '88. I checked his record; he had a couple typical Colorado losing seasons until this year, when he is 8-2. Maybe earning his step up.
I'm thinking Alexa may know something. Is Johnson going somewhere? Colorado isn't a well-loved school around here, but this direction makes a certain amount of sense. At least until I asked Alexa who Georgia's football coach is, and it told me it was Mike Ekeler. He was a defensive coach from last year who left with the old staff, and has never head coached anywhere. So much for the screenplay for "The cheap consumer tablet that foretold the future." Thus you just wasted your time reading this thread. But I'm a dwag, it's not like you didn't already hate my guts, right?
