It caps an amazing day to see ND getting blasted by USC. The Irish just got their FIRST 1st down of the game on the last play of the THIRD quarter. They are up to 32 total yards on 33 plays! How's that for efficiency, Fat Weis? :laugher:

31-zip Trojans.

Good to see they had a little life in them. I think a Charlie Weis fart following a super bean burrito has more firepower than his offense.

About mid season ESPN had a fan vote "is ND back"--yep waaaay back- where they belong.

I really hope they don't get Urban Myer as coach, there are quite a few people worried in Gator Land, his daughter just graduated and coming to Gt and there is a reputable sports writer down there (I believe he helped author Meyer's auotobiography) and he feels Myer will ultimetly be Notre Dame's head coach. It is his dream job per his biography ( He is also a devout Catholic) and it was said that the timing wasn't right last time around but it may be now, since his kids are getting older. I want him to stay at UF and keep kicking the dawgs around.

Meanwhile, the powerhouse of Cincinnati beat Syracuse 30-10.

Who exactly did sign on to his mega-contract? It could literally be the worst move in the history of college athletics. It's clear now that Weis can't coach offensive basics, preferring NFL-ready players who can already execute all of his technical wizardy. It will be funny to see how ND flails trying to secure his 10+ million dollar bailout PLUS secure money for a new coach INCLUDING paying the bailout for the new coach's current job.

I thought that Urb had a group of recruits he wanted to take with him, but ND didn't give him any academic exceptions. However, Weis if nothing else shows ND can recruit very, very well from just the academically qualified candidates.
