RR To stay......

You got it Big Man, word is that boosters came up with 2 Mill. a year and a lot of pressure.
Alabama has confirmed it.

7896 and counting on WV Board

At what point will reality set in at Alabama? It just isn't that desirable of a job anymore with the pressure to win and the competition of the SEC.

I think it has more to do with

a) easier to win in the Big East than in the SEC
b) Bama is still on probation
c) Money is the same
d) Moving ain't easy
e) Yeah, a lot more pressure and knuckleheaded boosters hovering around that program...

Mal Moore is an idiot and probably retains his position over there strictly as a result of the fact he was a former player for and assistant under Bear.

Rodriguez was not a proven winner at the 1-A level when WV hired him; Richt was not a proven winner at the 1-A level when UGA hired him; Tressel was not a proven winer at the 1-A level when Ohio State hired him; Fulmer was not a proven winner at the 1-A level with UT hired him, etc, etc. It is possible to find the right coach without him having been a proven winner as HC at the 1-A level, and you don't have to bankrupt the athletic dept. when you first bring one in.

Mal Moore is a one man search comittee. The only reason I can fathom that he insists on a proven winner as coach is that he is totally worthless in his ability to judge talent and feels like he will screw up again if they don't get someone who has already proven he can win. It's sad to see this from a program that historically has been a standard bearer for excellence on the field.

Heres to Richie Rich !

Now Jackets do some big A%# kicking in the Gator Bowl !:woot:

Yes, I'm glad he stays. This way if Tech wins we don't hear the excuses about the coach being gone...

Personally however, I think this whole method of using one program to up your pay in another (in this method) is in very poor form. Kids are going to grow thinking that this is the way to get ahead in life. You have to love Chan on issues such as these.

On the other hand, we can use this as motivation to win.
You know that a spotlight is now or will be blinding Rodriguez if he doesn't win big, and that starts Jan. 1.
We will definitely be getting the mountaingoats best shot in the GB.
Chan has one more chance this year to win an emotional game.
In my opinion, the Gator Bowl has just become a HUGE game. CG can redeem himself quite a bit with a win in the Bowl. YEA! We are finally playing in a real Bowl game. Get it done, Gailey!!
