I heard this tonight from a (u)ga grad friend of mine that is actually very reasonable and doesn't relish in petty smack talk. Thank goodness, because I'm petty enough to be aggravated by it.

Anyway, the paranoid ga fans have introduced the rumor that once Bowden goes down at F$U, then rchhhhchhhhhchtt takes the job and Tenuta with him as DC.

I know this is not something that is on any of our minds right now, but any thoughts?
 
On the night Mark Richt was hired, I was sitting in a Chili's and I looked over to my Dad and told him that when Bowden stepped down at Free Shoes, Mark Richt would be stepping to it from Georgia in a heartbeat.

As far as Tenuta goes? No, hell no. I don't see any chance in hell.
 
I've always thought that Parole Officer Richt is going home to Tally when $aint Bobby finally retires. It's been my feeling since his first year in Athens.
 
By the same token, if for some reason he doesn't take the FSU job, then look out because there is NOTHING else that would make him leave Georgia and we're looking at a long, long tenure for the rev in the cesspool.

I was just telling one of my UGA buddies (ugh) that exact same thing. The only job Richt would leave Athens for is FSU. I'd rather see him in Tallahassee than Athens. Its gonna be a long time before GT plays the Noles several years in a row.

How about Miami when the Randy Shannon experiment is over (which may be later than sooner based on skin color). After all, the Reverend was an All-American backup-QB/water boy during his days in Coral Gables.

Yeah. That and if Richt goes, then our chances of beating UGAg more regularly go up, I guess. And recruiting gets swung a heck of alot more by that than games against FSU, at which point we would be competitive enough to beat the Criminoles anyway.

Or something. I don't know.

Until someone in that rotting sore gets it together and decides they want to look like more than a giant trash heap in Nike uniforms, that job just isn't attractive and I can't see Richt wanting anything to do with it.

Hell, I would coach Miami right now if you offered me a decent contract.
 
Yeah, Miami is not an attractive job. I don't know how they've ever had success in athletics. Their facilities are awful, plus they have a discipline issue that is ingrained in their history. F$U has this, too. However, Miami's reputation for thuggery is not as prevalent as Miami's. Also, the facilities at F$U are along with the nation's elite.

Also, I get the impression that Miami's graduates generally do not stay in Miami. When I watch their games, I get the impression that they have more of an NFL-style fanbase of local blue collar folks. This, as well as thugs. F$U has more of a typical college fanbase that is strong and travels well.

If things like these differences weren't true, rccchhht probably would have gone to Miami. Maybe, anyway. Does anyone know if he was interviewed?

Richt ain't going nowhere!! He's got the gig of a lifetime (for him and his family) in Athens.
 
Why would Richt want any part of FSU? He caught loads of crap when he was OC and if anything, the heat they've put on Bobby would make him think twice IMO. I don't know why he would leave ugag for that job.
 
we could only hope that Richt leaves Uga.... he's built, unfortunately, a great program there with no signs of slowing..current recruiting class is in the top five.

however, why would he leave a great situation? Uga appears to be a better program now than fsu.. so, don't hold your breath on this rumor.
 
I dont see richt leaving ugag for any job outside of a very big pay check, which i think he makes from ugag and will get bumped up for next year. As a GT fan, we dont need to worry about richt, he is a solid coach but the thing that beats us when we play ugag is the fact that ( i was at the game tonight we had the players to beat ugag)we cant ever have any depth because of the "GT standards" and we dont pay enough for head coach (not a bash on Chan). Untill GT decides that we/they want to field a national champ. team, then we ARE going to come up short... much like tonight!
