Run-N-Shoot....

What I would like to see from JN is to put the ball in JD's stomach on all plays JD runs up the middle. Sometimes it seems he has already determined not to allow JD the ball although the dive is there and therefore doesn't sell the dive to the defense. Not trying to be critical as he has picked up the offense rather well.

I thought I read somewhere that sometimes CPJ reduces the number of reads that JN can make on some plays. Sometimes JN doesn't have the option to give it to JD on the dive.

Yeah, I think PJ needs to add that to his course on the difference between cut blocking and chop blocks for the ACC referees in the off season.

I was thinking the same thing, actually.

THE RUN-AND-SHOOT BOWL?
Two weeks ago, Johnson told reporters that were was another aspect to his option offense that fans haven’t seen yet, and he’s hoping to employ it at the right times.
On Saturday, he hinted that the “right time” could be during the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
Teaching his players phases of a “run-and-shoot” style passing offense, Johnson originally said he hoped to put those plays in place during the offseason. Through Georgia Tech’s five-plus weeks of practice since its 45-42 win over Georgia, the Yellow Jackets have been working on some small nuances to the scheme.
“We worked on it really hard,” Johnson said. “We have a couple of phases of it in. Whether we use it or not (Wednesday), we’ll see. It just depends on how the game is going and how (LSU) lines up.”
