Re: Running List of Players for 2006 who\'ve inked....

So once he signs, that will make 15 and we'll be all but done for the day?

Also, if anyone's going to the banquet today/tonight would you mind posting a report or pictures of how it went?

Thanks!

Re: Running List of Players for 2006 who\'ve inked....

Could we get somebody there in Atlanta to run down there to the recruiting station with a pencil for LeRon to use. Dang, he's going to get tired of waiting soon and go somewhere else. Anybody got a pencil?

Re: Running List of Players for 2006 who\'ve inked....

maybe someone should just hand deliver the offer and speed up this process!!!

Re: Running List of Players for 2006 who\'ve inked....

Re: Running List of Players for 2006 who\'ve inked....

The Macon Telegraph said that we could (or are allowed to) sign 17 today, does anyone know if we're going to sign two other guys?

Re: Running List of Players for 2006 who\'ve inked....

Jackson, they just mean that we have 17 schollys available to give. Unless there is a big surprise, I believe that 15 is all we are going to sign. Don't count on the Macon Telegraph to give you good or accurate info about our beloved Yellow Jackets.

Re: Running List of Players for 2006 who\'ve inked....

They have a better track record than the AUC so I put more faith in them. They didn't say that we would sign 17, but rather that we could. I wasn't sure if anyone knew of other guys we could use the two remaining schollys on.

I\'m Not Sure Anyone Outside The Coaching Staff ..

has any ideas how many schollies we actually have to give. Only known loss at this point is Eric Williams (transferring to Ga Southern). There may be some other academic or injury losses that haven't been revealed. I think 17 is a good guess because at one time that represented the high count of our commitments.

Re: I\'m Not Sure Anyone Outside The Coaching Staff ..

and Riles will be back for Spring practice

Crap, crap, crap

We're losing Eric Williams???? He was one of our highest thought of players that we signed 2 yrs ago. Did our coaches totally miss on how talented he was??? Did he just not stay eligible??? Crap, crap, crap. We need to take in some decent transfers, like Riles & Choice, which our staff has done better recruiting than the...oh, well.

Re: Crap, crap, crap

He just didn't pan out Ace, kind of like Hobie Holiday.

Re: Crap, crap, crap

This is nothing to worry about. We are fine at LB.

and again...there is nothing wrong with the quality of kids we are getting. When you look at them individually you can really see where they fit in. The only flaw has been the overall numbers as we are coming up short on volume and could use one or two more big-timers like Daryl Richard, Calvin Johnson, Kenny Scott, Rashaun Grant, etc. which they did a good job landing.
Gailey addressed what part of the plan was today to all of those in attendance. Adding a person to the staff that focuses on recruiting and has proven experience there is one (Geoff Collins) and the other is that he said one of the two new position coaches will HAVE to be a great recruiter and will spend his life on the road.

Here's an ajc link providing a little bit of information on GT's 2006 signing class.

Re: Running List of Players for 2006 who\'ve inked....

Good looking class! Ben Anderson has a Rock Perdoni (mean sob) look about him. I like that.
