I know everyone is focused on the news about Joe but here is something to take your mind off of it.

If he does indeed transfer, this could make our august Thursday night opener a bit more interesting, as Ryan is an exceptional athlete albeit with a sad inability to overcome his character issues.

Going from being the #1 recruit in the country to apparent starting QB for the returning NCAA champions to "maybe" getting a chance to play at Jacksonville State is about as dramatic a roller coaster ride as you could imagine.

If he has the good fortune to end up at Jacksonville State, he'll have the benefit of playing for a great coach who's an even better human being and mentor of young men, Jack Crowe. Given that this kid's troubles started with the death of his father, he just couldn't do any better, period, than to be lucky enough to end up with Jack.
