Scout vs Rivals

I am going to subscribe next year, and trying Rivals now. It's ok, but is Scout any better?
I am not a Hive fan at all. Would like y'all's thoughts.

In my opinion Rivals USED to be superior. Last year I felt that Scout definitely put in more time trying to get inside info whereas Rivals almost didin't care. The stories used to break on Rivals first, now they are breaking on Scout first.

Scout is superior but I think the quality of some of their staff is pretty weak. The Insiders board is much better than the Rivals insiders board, but its still filled with a bunch of the Hive guys that will annoy the ever living **** out of you.

I would suggest Scout but two years ago I would have suggested Rivals. Last year I thought they were about even.

I have checked Scout out briefly, and that is exactly what I have been thinking, that Scout seems to be better now, if you can put up with some of the hivers!

thanks for asking this bogey, i was thinking about doing the same recently.
 
Its pretty simple.

Scout has the best message board by far (Insiders)...the Insiders board gets some good information....way ahead of the general audience. Some of the guys on there just park themselves at the practice fields and Edge Center.

Rivals has the best database for information, videos, stats, interviews, etc. They have much more in terms of volume...can hold more offer info, video, pics, data, etc.

Both sites get birdie information, including the AJC, when something breaks in terms of commitments...so the commitment race does not exist any longer.

So...to just keep up I would cruise the boards on Scout...but if I want player stats, videos, etc. I go to Rivals.
 
I'm pretty ambivalent but just to answer your question Rivals, imo, is superior to Scout. However, Scout has raised it's ugly head and appears ready to devour Rivals, who, btw, are the better outfit. Then I woke up and realized it was all a bad dream and I've yet to give any of these goober smoochers one flat dime.
One's as good as the other and neither one is worth it.
 
I'm a Scout subscriber and I think I've read about as much "inside" info on this board and on AJC.com as I've seen on Scout.

Neither service really worth it imo, especially since AJC has really upped their recruiting coverage.

I think Ed is pretty much right on in his thoughts. I m now trying both of them now and will decide after this weekend. I am not into videos and stats so much. Video quality I have seen is not very good and hard to tell much. I mainly want to keep up with who we are interested in and their thoughts on us. I found great updated info on the Hive on 2009 AND 2010 recruits, and well organized. It will probably be Scout for me.

My AJC subscription is ending next week and I don't think there will be much recruiting info after signing day in the paper. I get my other news through the internet and TV, and my thoughts are that it is a waste of much paper to take the AJC when I only read the sports section.
