Selecting the Emerald Bowl

Did the players get to VOTE as to whether they even wanted to go to this Bowl game, or was this dictated from on high?
 
I am 99% sure that this was dictated. It was the nut bowl or nothing, and the league assigned it.
 
ESPN reported that when Oregon saw the writing on the wall that they would get the BCS snub they polled their fans about which bowl they'd most like to go to and the fans overwhelmingly chose the Holiday bowl. Then you look at the crowd and there are a BUNCH of Oregon people there.

Can you imagine if someone in the AA had the 25 watt bulb above their head to do something similar? Might have helped us 'lobby' the folks in Nashville.

Man, that game sucked - we looked awful
 
Even aside from our performance, this bowl was a disgrace to the NCAA and the ACC. The field was not only subpar, but was downright dangerous for the players. The announcers couldn't even keep the teams straight (especially Pam Ward - Now there's taking EEO WAYYYYYY to far!) I would rather not go to a bowl than go to one that a good high school team wouldn't want to play in!
 
well Oregon won't be #6 much longer if they don't make a big turnaround. OK is up by 10 at end of 3Q. Maybe they are pouting about their draw too.
