Unfortunately the ACC schedule is late
being released. At least it's already later than the past three years. In the past it has been released by the 4th Wednesday in January. I'm sure it has to do with the fact that multiple ACC teams are still trying to line-up 12th games.
Legalbuzz is probably right though that Tech will probably have a conference game that weekend. Although it wouldn't be out of the question to have two OOC games to open the season, though if it's a 2nd 1-AA team then I doubt they'd be back-to-back.
From a GTAA perspective, if there is a 2nd 1-AA/FCS team then it would be best if it could slide into the spot vacated by Army and then it could be Homecoming. Most GT fans are going to show up for homecoming regardless of opponent, so if a 2nd FCS team is necessary then this could bring in the highest gate. Jax St should have good attendance since it's the season opener and Tech fans will be excited to see the first game of the CPJ era. So if the GTAA can manage to get both FCS games scheduled on "prime" weekends then there's a better chance that all 7 home games will be closer to sell-outs since the rest will all be ACC games.
BTW, it's been driving me crazy (mostly b/c I'm OCB when it comes to planning) that we still don't know the 12th opponent, much less the 2008 schedule.
