This board has gone down hill the past couple of days. I don't bring anything to this board as you can tell by my lack of posts, but I came here because it was the best GT board to come to for information. But over the last couple of days it has turned into a BS rumor mill and a hate fest for any candidate that may become our HC. (except for CH it seems)

Basically, I am just wondering why we all can't get behind whoever the next HC is going to be. We need to look at the positives of what all the candidates could bring instead of looking at the negatives. There are some that are doing this but the majority of posts are " This guy cant do this here", " He's a mutt", " Probation", you get the idea. DRAD wants to unite the fan base but it seems to me, at least here, the fan base won't let him.
 
Chuck, I haven't been here long, but I have been on other Tech message boards for a while and since the coaching search started, the quality has gone down across the board - but it's much worse at the Hive and Rivals. I think it's looks like a BS rumor mill without much info because in large part, there isn't any info. Demjackets is strongest source out there, though, and I trust that when there's real news, we'll get some in advance through him.

It will be united when the new coach starts winning. In fact, it will probably be a lot more united when we name a HC whoever that may be?
 
Everyone is just anxious and freaking out it will settle back to normal soon enough.
 
I have to agree with you Chuck, but save or a few posters attacking candidates I think all the head coach discussion is valid. Nobody really knows what is going on so what's left to do besides talk about who our next coach might be and the pros/cons of each?
 
Do you realize how boring the boards would be right now without all of this? It's only a problem if you take it too seriously.

very good point, I find myself being shocked and awed at some of the posts, sometimes I find myself getting a little angry, well not angry, but alive, and sometimes I find myself laughing out loud at some of it.

I'm actually enjoying it.
I posted in another thread a reply to this as well: this board isn't usually like this, it's a very credible board usually. During a coaching change like this everything gets out of wack. We're not the only ones speculating about things that turn out to be false, just look at espn, ajc, 790, kirk herb., it's just madness right now.
 
I love the posts go like this:

"If we don't hire [Insert Candidate Name Here],"

[Then Select One or More of the Following]

A. "Giff will be gone for sure"
B. "Tenuta will be gone for sure"
C. "D-Rad will leave for sure"
D. "We will never beat UGA"
E. "We will be like Duke and might as well drop down to D-IAA"
F. "I won't support the program"

That is one of my points. I have seen many more posts regarding the cons of a potential candidate instead of the pros. Should be the opposite, IMHO.

I agree that it is probably worse at the Hive and Rivals. That is why I chose this board to begin with. I just haven't seen it this bad here since I have been reading here. ( I have been here for over three years but I only joined this year. I know I'm struggling)

I agree about Dems he is the only "insider" person I believe.

It's a unique time. We're hiring a new head football coach and basically we as Tech fans must wait for a decision to be made. I have enjoyed the last few days of speculation, scenarios, rumors and hear-say as well as apparent facts and well-thought theories and opinions.

For those who take themselves way to seriously when it comes to an Internet message board, just stay logged off until a decision has been made and then come back --and do realize that the final decision will be critiqued, praised and criticized.
 
I agree, Chuck. I'm new to the board too and thought it (by far) the superior source of information on the seach, but I hate to see the increase in trashing whoever the candidate might be. RN? A crook! WM? A dirty dawg! PJ? Three yards and a cloud of dust, and an inferior schedule! JT? A meanie who just blitzes all the time and can't recruit!

I think folks are just stressed out with the uncertainty. Once a HC is hired and puts on a gold tie and answers a few questions with wit and charm and the AJC runs a Sunday feature article on the new coach, I predict that all will settle down and unite.
