Troy Vincent, Brady's former teammate, will decide on Brady's punishment, if any.

Probably? The text messages leave no doubt. The equipment manager even calls himself the "Deflator".

It took this long for them to a 'probably' and a 'likely'?

    Goodell is a troll

Sad that this is all ESPN can think to talk about. For how much longer are we supposed to pretend that the air pressure of a football is an intriguing sports topic?

“There are other players that are in a two-point stance (and) pass block 50 times a game that in all honesty don’t run block very well,” Belichick said. “He’s kind of the flip of that, which is a little bit unusual, but it is what it is.”

How did they get ahold of the text messages? Wouldn't they need a subpoena or something?

I didnt realize ESPN has morphed into the NFL now.

Did the Patriots cheat every time they won anything?

I guess on company phones which had records of the text messages, and the NFL asked the Patriots to hand over the records.

yeah that article talks about it a little bit. Brady didn't have to turn in his personal phone since this is not a criminal case.

Of course he would have. What do you think he's going to do, go into the huddle and say, "Tom, I know you like the football to be soft, but this feels like it might be 1 PSI too soft, I'm going to have to tell the officials and refuse to play until they confirm it's okay"?

I think they're probably on the same level. The impression I've gotten throughout this whole saga is that lots of teams try to or do manipulate the ball, and the NFL's standards of enforcement with regards to game balls are so lax as to be laughable.

At this point, Brady pretty much has to be suspended, but if Goodell was actually good at his job he would have just fined the Patriots after the AFC championship game, said that while lots of teams do it it's not acceptable, and that the next season there would be strict measures put in place to prevent it as well as strict punishments for those who do it.

This whole thing has been fun for fans, though. I was really hoping for an "NFL official accidentally switched in deflated balls as he stole the real balls" outcome. Have to admit I didn't expect the incriminating evidence that came out against the Pats.

Shaq will take properly inflated balls and deflate them with his bare hands as he snaps to Brady.
