Between this link from DB's eloquent speech as how GT will never be much of anything again in football, and the Reuben H. situation, and the NCAA violations coming in now, I'm wondering just how many times we can continue shooting ourselves in the feet before we fall as a school.
I also wonder how people of responsibility can keep their jobs in the AD. Upfront, I am not a "FIRE EVERYBODY" person. But this NCAA violation business appears to me that Ga Tech will be hurt immensely in many respects. Football just may be the least of the hurts.
In reading DB & Dr. Clough's statements concerning these 17 cases, the more I read, the more mysterious and complex it became. Reminds me of a kid I know that got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. After hearing his side of the story, one could not help but understand how he could have been so confused that he had to steal a cookie. As I said, I am not a FIRE EVERYBODY person normally. In this case, I wonder if maybe some house cleaning may just be the order of the day. I can't imagine anyone in private business, that had so many blunders as our AD has had and still keep a job. If no one in our Athletic Dept loses their job, GT's AD will be as great a place to work as the US Senate. NEVER ENDING INCOME FOR LIFE !!!!!
Now, someone in the know please tell me, will this thing turn around? Or will we just keep on having these type problems pop up? I'm sure Dr. Clough and D. Braine are excellent, well respected, men of the community and GT should be more than proud to have them serve here. BUT, don't they have to account to anyone? I hope surely there is a Board that they have to account to. Someone fill in these empty blanks for me, please.
