First, best wishes to Coach Braine with his health in retirement.
Second, I have no problems with names that are surfacing. Most have Tech ties and are good persons.
However, we don't seem to think about persons without Tech ties who have proven themselves effective as AD's and just might like a move to Atlanta and the chance to work at a highly respected academic institution that also believes athletic success is possible where academics are rigorous.
Bobby Ross, Homer Rice, Paul Hewitt, Bobby Cremins - none had ties to Tech as athletes or coaches until the opportunity came to come on board at Tech. Those hires worked well.
Who would interest you that lacks the GT ties but has been a proven success as an AD at a place where it is reasonable to consider a move to Tech?
