Voted No. What's the alternative? Sure 790 has a piss-poor signal, but I'm one of the people that actually enjoys the Zone for the most part. Brandon Adams can be a tool sometimes and Beau Bock has apparently lost his goddamned mind, but Dimino, Cellini, Woolverton, Bell and Pollack are all pretty entertaining to me.
On the other hand, listening to a show like Buck and Kincade has about the same effect as an ambien and a couple of glasses of wine. I really don't know how some of you listen to a show that has absolutely no energy whatsoever.
I can tolerate topics other than sports being sprinkled in over the regular sports radio because the guys at 790 typically know how to do it and be funny.
Afternoon show? I have to say, actually, that Pollack has been probably the best mutt on the air about the U(sic)GA game. He's the only real mutt that has actually admitted that we beat them.
The signal thing sucks, but thats going to be the same with every AM station at night because of federal restrictions.
I'm ignorant about this so excuse the potentially dumb question, but how is it that I can get 750 at night? I was getting 750 loud and clear from the cesspool at 6pm Saturday night. I live 15 miles OTP on the south side. I can get 750 pretty well at home at night.
If you look here you can see that 750 in Atlanta is one of these clear-channel stations that doesn't have to power down.AM transmissions cannot be ionospherically propagated during the day due to strong absorption in the D-layer of the ionosphere. In a crowded channel environment this means that the power of regional channels which share a frequency must be reduced at night or directionally beamed in order to avoid interference, which reduces the potential nighttime audience. Some stations have frequencies unshared with other stations in North America; these are called clear-channel stations. Many of them can be heard across much of the country at night. During the night, this absorption largely disappears and permits signals to travel to much more distant locations via ionospheric reflections. However, fading of the signal can be severe at night.

Unless you are going to offer up an FM alternative, I'm thinking 790 is about the best we've got right now.
There may be an FM alternative upcoming. Check out 106.7, they are now carrying the CPJ radio show and you can actually pick up the signal OTP in the evening. There are indications that some type of announcement may be forthcoming in January I believe.
Kind of a sideways but related question:
Wes Durham is listed as "Director - Broadcasting" for the GTAA. In his capacity as announcer, who employs him?
I think Wes is awesome.

ISP Sports.
He's probably on 790's payroll as well for his scheduled shows.
