Silicon Valley Classic is great gimmick for Fresno St.

Fresno State has figured out a way to get to play an additional home game against a "name" program for the third straight year...and call it a bowl. This is great promotional work by their AA dept.!

Tech will bring a few hundred fans to this game while the Bulldogs will truck in thousands to see their team play 155 miles from campus.

Tech should be so smart. We should organize a classic of our own, starting next year, so that we too can have another home game disguised as a bowl. Maybe the Empire Classic, the Peanut Invitational, the Carter Cup, the MLK KingBowl, etc., etc.

I bet there are plenty of 6-5 teams out west who would love to vacation in the Atlanta area in December, who have a few hundred fans eager to follow their Alma Mater to yet another "Classic".
