Lets say we beat Clemson, and Miami beats us, and the rest of the games go about like everyone figures up to that point.

The following week, Miami will play VT. If VT wins, we go to the championship, and if Miami wins, they go to the championship, unless they were to lose to UVA or BC, in which case we'd go.

Right?

We really need to beat Clemson, and Clemson really needs to beat us. Yeesh.

Ok now say Clemson beats us, but we beat Miami. Miami will have 2 losses, and VT will have 1, but we'll have the head-to-head over VT so we go to the championship. But if Miami beats us as well, we're out of it with 2 losses.

Right?

I gotta quit this. Giving myself ulcers.

Wrong. You're forgetting Miami's loss to FSU. If our only loss is to Miami, we go to the championship no matter what as we have the tie breaker over VT and no one else can have only one loss.

EDIT: UVA could also have only one loss, but we have the tie-breaker over them as well.

By loss I am referring to only ACC games of course.

Miami can still finish ACC play with only 1 conference loss, provided they beat us and VT. That's what I was getting at. We'd both have 1 loss, and they'd have the head-to-head against us.

Without beating UNC,NCstate,Duke,MD--This is really fantasy.

That's what I get for reading those two posts back-to-back!! I even re-read them several times to make sure it was correct.

Good. Now work out what needs to happen to get us to the BCS championship game.

1) We win out, in convincing fashion.
2) Everyone else ahead of us in the polls loses. (Maybe not quite that off, but any currently undefeated teams would have to lose for us to even sniff the top 10. OSU may need to lose twice, and Texas would probably have to lose again.)

We turn back time and beat ND this time. I swear if ND turns out to be our only loss this year, I'm never speaking of the Irish again.

......Though I would be happy with a 13-1 record after ACC championship and the BCS bowls.

1) Calvin stays for next season
2) We're rated high preseason next year
3) We go undefeated

I have already completed my wayback machine. All I need now is a talking dog to run it.

Can someone tell me why there is more than 1 rule for a 2-way tie? You'll never get beyond head-to-head between the 2 tied teams.

If the game is canceled and cannot be rescheduled (ala GT - VT). For example, if BC - UMd were canceled because of a blizzard, that game would be hard to make up before the ACC Championship game.
