Remember that turkey fans think their backfield is the best in the country, so their cool aid has more than TT in it.

At this point, I'm betting it's a low scoring, defensive fight, eventually won on a special teams play. Advantage vpi.

Let em be undefeated when they return to BDS. I have to believe that behind our closed doors that game already has a target on it bigger than TJ Barnes.

As for our ranking, CPJ says it better than anyone else can, in a mere 14 seconds... and the rest of the vid is worth watching again too.

VT will always be a stout team with Beamer at the helm.
 
VT is not a top 5 team. That is rediculous. The 100+ ranked offense at the end of last year is not going to maraculously turn around be this elite team. It ain't going to happen. TT is not that good. In fact he is a lot like Reggie Ball, he is either on or off. He could barely come up with a win against Duke last year and couldn't get the come back against other teams. He has no passing game. Quick feet yes. That's what killed us last year. I don't think I have ever seen him truely beat anyone by the air. Come on we know how that works.

VT having the best backfield in the ACC is laughable at best. GT does. Everyone knows that and we will for a long time IMO. As long as PJ is here and we are stacked 6 deep at RB and various running positions, I don't care who you are you aren't going to be deeper at the backfield. VT has TT and Evans, who isn't even great, but he gets all this great press because he's a dad or some crap. This is football, not daddy daycare and you don't get points during the season for that crap.

VT will be exposed quickly this year. 100+ maybe gets 85+ this year. GT will be #1 offense this year. Watch it.

VT always finds a way to win, mostly with defense.

They remind me of Tech in 06. Winning games, but not really impressing anyone.

Heck yes, we will be the #1 offense. Embry Peebles made some plays in the passing game, so did JD, Nesbitt and Shaw improved a bunch passing...

#1 offense in the land, bay- bee!

I don't see that happening. Alabama is built to beat ball control, grind it out teams. Alabama has a stout interior. Getting to the edge and making the big boys run for 4 quarters is the way to beat them.

I don't see VT getting blown out. They'll probably lose by 4 or so.

agree 100%. bama lost a key part of their defense when rashad johnson graduated, and also lost a huge part of their offense in andre smith. do you remember their offensive line play against Utah? plus they will have a 1st year qb playing in the game. VT has a dang good chance in this game

I didn't see them getting blown out by East Carolina either.

I think VT loses handily, by around 14, makes the ACC look like crap, and then goes on to either win the division or tie with us, which will come down to a tiebreaker, again.

#1 rushing offense, definitely. #1 scoring or total offense, possibly in the ACC, but I doubt nationally.

Yes, but Tyrod Taylor did not play in the EC game IIRC.

Also, Bama will have a new QB and the stout VT D will likely give him problems. I would expect a low scoring game but will be pulling for VT just because they need to give the ACC a national boost to start the season.

Hopefully we can take care of business when we meet up with them this year.

Why am I glad that they didn't rank us #1? Because they haven't been right in a very long time.

I hope we are pre-season #1 in every poll but sports illustrated.

I agree with that but I'm not sure I will be able to stand all of the gobbling from Blacksburgh if they pull off the win... they dont exactly need another reason to be cocky... but at the same time, I would love to take them off the highest pedestal possible when they come to town
