good thing we did not hire him or we may have had the shortest tenure in GT history.

Also interesting comments by the sportscasters. Some are really running this guy down.

Others are defending him as that is "just the way the game is played"

That sure does not seem like the type of coach GT would have wanted.

Yeah, I saw that. Mark May said "In the next 3 years, Neuheisel will either have UCLA on probation or they will be the cleanest program in America because the NCAA is going to scrutinize that program closer than any other."

Also, I can't believe there are some who want to see UCLA succeed and GT lose just so they can prove that he was right for the job.

those who can succeed at UCLA or not necessarily the same that can succeed at GT. History has taught us that.

I cant see where you guys are getting this. I have heard praises sung at UCLA for the great hire. Thats it.

I personally didn't think he would be the best fit for Tech but I actually like the hire by UCLA. IMHO, he developed a reputation while at Colorado that follows him to this day no matter what he does, often unfairly.

I would have spit my teeth out if this cat got hired for TECH. I think he's a good fit for the Bruins. Go figure.

sounds like a bunch of bitter Tech fans that are glad that we didn't hire him

so why still bitch about ucla hiring him? he's not at Tech, let the guy be

That is if you consider beating only one ranked team out of the 9 that you played, never beating your archrival, and never winning your conference championship success.

I think he would have been a good hire at GT except for one thing: as Law Bee said in the original post that started this conversation, he would have left this week to go to UCLA. Glad we got Paul.

I think he will succeed but, i did not want GT to take a chance on him maybe getting us in trouble with the NCAA.
