I actually thought Pitt tried a lot of things that I've seen work in the past. They brought their safeties up to the line - didn't work. They put their LB's wide to keep us from getting to the edge - we gashed them up the middle. They shifted their DL before the snap - we blew them off line the line and got easy yards. They tried to shoot the gaps - we made quick reads and got the ball into space for big gains. Thanks longestday. Always enjoy. Seems like this year, as opposed to 2015, our lineman know who they are supposed to block. In 2015 saw a lot of confusion about who's man was who's man but not this year. Could be the defenses have been fairly vanilla. Devine was absolutely road grading and Braun pulling was as fast as it gets. Only negative was Kervante mental mistakes. He ran possessed but hopefully as he gains experience he won't run the wrong way and also hold onto the ball. The Pitt defensive plan was not very creative with a lack of shooting the gaps. I thought the Pitt coach was a defensive guru. Didn't look like it in that film play.

Honestly we should have put up 50+ points easily.
Even beyond that, we were VERY close to breaking several more long rushing TDs, and if Marshall had a better throwing game there were guys wide open for TDs on basically every pass play.Since all four TOs were in Pitt territory or near midfield, lets say we convert 2 of those drives into TDs instead. That's 49 points so there ya go.
Yeah, other than the fumble-itis, the only negative I really saw from our offense was that TQM's passes were a bit off. Don't know if that was just from the unexpected off-week/down time or what. He was on the money in the UT game.Even beyond that, we were VERY close to breaking several more long rushing TDs, and if Marshall had a better throwing game there were guys wide open for TDs on basically every pass play.
