I mean I'm not a prude, but it sure seems like there used to be some restraint imposed by the mods. So are we degenerating into just another SEC type board? Surely you guys have more imagination than to use some of the terms being thrown around now.
 
If you are referring to some of my posts, I apologize I will work on limiting profanity in future posts.
 
If you find a post offensive please bring it to our attention. That little red triangle in the left corner of every post will send the post directly to us for us to review it.

Like I have said in the past we DON'T read ever post. In fact b/c we spend our time on the pred contest and other tasks we don't have the time to read every post.

We rely on the members to bring the post to our attention through the "red triangle."

When I do see an offensive post I alter it and look at who posted it. If it is way over the line I send that person a "what going on?" message.

But like I said ultimately it will be up to the members to moderate the posts.

As someone who's fairly new to the stingtalk community, I might not have a good feel for the generally accepted boundaries around here. If any of you guys feel I'm out of bounds, please let me know in a PM. Thanks.

Personally, I love smart smart aleck, piffy, robust and off the wall comments. In my world beej, you are an exemplary contributor. ArchiTech is best in class.

There is however, no reason for anyone to profinate.(made up word I think)
Any time hitting a "send" button is required to communicate, profanity is not spontaneous and is just vulgar.
Would Eddie Haskell ever curse in front of June Cleaver? No, he would not. ;)
 
Well, I didn't call it to a mods attention because I knew there were new posters involved. I think techgator responded perfectly and I don't think there is a problem anymore. I didn't want to bring someone to the mods attention without some kind of warning. I probably overstepped but I guess everything turned out okay.

No you didn't overstep, you made me realize that some of my posts were quite vulgar. Thanks for the wake up call.
