....and they mentioned Navy's win over ND. I want to see PJ run out on the field like that in Athens this year.

That was my favorite moment last year, and that's well before I ever dreamed PJ would be our coach. Here's a great youtube video of Navy's historic 2007 win over ND, which shows PJ going nuts:

EDIT: Skip to about the 2:40 mark to see the final play and ensuing celebration, including PJ running and going bonkers.

I remember that weekend well...
We had gone to the GT-VT game on a Thursday night. Stolen jerseys and all, we still got embarrassed. Chan was booed during his PSA and I got banned from the Hive that night.
Packed up the truck the next Friday morning to go camping, just the wife and I. As we rode out of town that morning we listened to the radio talking heads openly say Chan should be fired for such a miserable showing. I took delight in that but my attention was soon drawn away as the scenery from the changing foliage in north Georgia took precedence.
We ended up camping at the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, just between Tennessee and North Carolina. There were no showers nor TV but I did have my XM Radio. I can recall clear as day listening to the ND-Navy game that evening. We were cooking steaks and biscuits in a skillet over the camp fire. The time had changed and the sun had gone down awfully early that day, or so it seemed. The temperature was dropping like a bastard and the cold had no mercy.
Being a coastal Georgia boy and hating Catholicism, I was naturally rooting for Navy. After they won in the 3rd OT I told my wife what a great victory that was and how Tech could use a coach like that.
Little did I know my dream would be realized and I am still living it.
God bless Paul Johnson and the Yellow Jackets, we sure do have a lot of ass kickings to give!

Hating Catholicism? I don't like Notre Dame either but
that is a strange thing to say. Surely it was just a
poor attempt at humor. I'm not trying to start a
debate about our religious beliefs, just seems out of
place.

Hating Catholicism is not the same thing as hating those who practice it. I hope.

Besides, I don't think having an opinion one way or the other about religion was needed to root for Navy against the Irish. I can't imagine anybody other than devoted ND fans not pulling for Navy in that game.

Hey! I married a Catholic girl!

Can't stand her.

Do I have everyone's permission to hate the Catholics who think I am going to Hell because I am not Catholic? Can someone in the Thought Police clarify that for me?

When the thought leaves your skull and finds its way to written form on the intarweb it is no longer under the jurisdiction of the Thought Police.

And speaking of hell, I count four references to it between your avatar and your sig so it may be that you have some unexamined ideas about it yourself.

None of what you said makes any sense.

Furthermore:

I'm a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech and a hell of an engineer,
A helluva, helluva, helluva, hell of an engineer,
Like all the jolly good fellows, I drink my whiskey clear,
I'm a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech and a hell of an engineer.

...

I'm a ramblin', gamblin', hell of an engineer.

...

TO HELL WITH GEORGIA!

I guess we all have "unexamined ideas," whatever the hell you meant by that.

How on earth did this thread devolve into more political crap?

Here's an idea, lets throw fish at Notre Dame for some reason unrelated to Catholicism instead. Like maybe because their coach is a freaking whale.

I can't stand Catholicism. Then again, I can't stand Southern Baptists either. Keep your beliefs to yourself and if I'm going to hell for mine, I'm sure I'll see you there. (The proverbial "you" not you in particular.)

I scrolled down this whole thread hoping to read more about PJ going nuts after the Navy win over ND and all I see is a bunch of dumbasses.

Dude, why did you name yourself after the crappiest building on campus? Oh, it makes sense now...
