Rivals is teasing a commitment - one of our "top targets from GA". Who could it be?

Thanks - the news is now public. Kamaron Riley is a Jacket!

very impressive athlete at camp....we will be teaching him cornerback to start. He tore it up from a numbers standpoint with over 700 yds. of receptions as a junior....then came to camp with the measurables (6-3, 190, 4.48, 36" vertical)...then showed some skills in coverage.

Pipeline to Hawkinsville continues!

Rivals is apparently not too big on him. Two stars.

;) It's Okay...A lot of the rising seniors have not been evaluated yet. Others have low ratings to show that the service has received and analyzed some film of that particular recruit but they have not seen them in person. He and others ratings will surely rise as they play out their final HS seasons.

However, as witnessed in the past, an early commit's rating can be affected, as the services will spend less time on a player who is already firm with a school. This was the case with Jarrard Tarrant last year. According to scout, he is one of our lower rated commitments. However, I think that you will learn quickly that this is not he case.

The difference in this case being our coaches evaluated him not only in live games...but a personal workout at camp last weekend. Tenuta ran the defense and worked with the DB's himself. Giff, Tenuta, and Chan consulted afterwards and agreed he was a player.

...or we can go by the Rivals writers who have never seen him live. ;)

1. Check out rival's numeric rating. Both McRae & Riley miss three stars by 0.1. Considering the subjectiveness/margin of error/arbitrary nature of the ratings, from a statistical perspective they are no different from Peeples & Jackson who are 3-star.

2. Coach Tenuta personally worked out Riley at GT's camp and said we had to get this kid. I trust coach T's judgement.

3. Measurables are off the chart. Ran the fastest forty (4.5) on a slow surface (beating Ralph Bolden, who has offers from everyone, is supposed to be a burner, and ran a 4.6). Vertical jump per Tech camp was 36". His lifting numbers are sick for a 180lb dude: benched 295 & squatted over 400? This guy has Wheeler like atheleticism. Nice frame size as well - measured 6-2.5 tall.

4. It's early. Because Riley is not an interior lineman he will get reranked. Interior linemen who commit early never get reranked so McRae will be stuck at the arbitrary 2**. Don't be fooled though. McRae is smart, agile, and is already big, with a frame that can add more weight.

Class is off to a strong start & we are looking good with a bunch of 3 & 4 star guys. Folks close to the situation are saying this will be a top-30 class, and there is a lot of evidence showing up to support that.

One thing to look for this year....more secrecy. You will see several commits that seem to come out of the woodwork. Several schools are copycating GT's success from last year, so more information is being kept under tight wraps, and GT is not showing its cards near as much. One reason for the larger camp size this year.
