MSN.com has reposted the Sporting News' 17 questions for the 2017 college football season (http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nca...-football-season/ar-AAlWWhw?li=BBnba9I#page=1"

This one especially caught my interest. A little love? Fleeting?

2. Is the ACC the best conference?

It’s the only conference who can say it has two active coaches who have won a national championship. Swinney and Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher are proof of that, and the conference has made fantastic coaching hires in recent seasons. Virginia Tech’s Justin Fuente, Miami’s Mark Richt, Louisville’s Bobby Petrino and Pittsburgh’s Pat Narduzzi are proof of that. Perceptions are fleeting, however, and perhaps attached too much a 9-3 bowl record. Now, the challenge is to maintain that label. The best way to do that is winning another national championship.

Wins over P5 Conference Champs
ACC 3 (PSU, Bama, Clemson)
Pac12 2 (PSU, UW)
B1G 2 (OU, PSU)
SEC 1 (UW)
Big12 0

SEC and Big12 were top heavy with champs who went 9-0 in conference.
ACC, PAC12, and B1G all had non-conference champs beat a P5 conference champ.

Is there a metric at which the ACC is not the leading conference?

How about P5 division champs OOC?

ACC 3 (PSU, Bama, UF) - 2 conf champ
SEC 3 (UW, Wisc, VT) - 1 conf champ
B1G 2 (Ok, Colo) - 1 conf champ
PAC12 1 (PSU) - 1 conf champ
Big12 0 - srsly this conf sucks

I've noticed that a lot of these writers mentioning coaching in the ACC as a main reason we're good now (which I agree with) all seem to leave out CPJ. If I'm not mistaken he's the longest tenured ACC coach now and I wouldn't be surprised if he's still here after all of them. Probably the best actual gameday coach of the bunch as well.

The issue that the ACC is going to have next year is that everyone is replacing experienced and talented QBs. You could argue that's why the ACC was so good the past couple of years...They simply had the best group of QBs in the nation.

They leave out CPJ specifically because he's been around so long now. The article specifically states that great hires have been made in recent seasons. CPJ wasn't recently hired, therefore, he doesn't fit on that list.

I would tend to agree about his abilities as a game day coach, though.
