Some positives of the Jax St. game:

1. No major injuries.
2. We seem to be running the option better, MINUS FUMBLES.
3. Our return game is better.
4. We won.
5. We were able to rest our starters a little in that game.
6. We didn't have to open up our playbook to win the game (still have many secrets up our sleeves).

feel free to add more positives ...

It's quite simple. We don't turn the ball over much and we win. That was the case all last year and it will be the same this year. Go Jackets!!

We scored on the first play.

We were up 31-7 at halftime.

Julian Burnett.

Tarrant.

Plenty for PJ and the staff to use as teaching points and motivation for the Clemmons.

Varsity onion rings were top notch; the perfect blend of cripsy and greasy.

We had one or two pretty hot majorettes.

Josh's passing looked effortless although a couple were slightly overthrown in the beginning.

I shudder at the thought of Josh, Jon, Roddy, and Anthony in the backfield at the same time.

Tevin looked comfortable running the offense and has got some shifty moves, just need to protect the ball better (same with Josh).

Bay Bay had a ridiculously sick block on the first play; pummeled a defender to the ground.

+a bunch.

Nesbitt's throws all looked smooth. He needs a tad more touch on a couple of em, but he should have easily been 9/11.

-new plays this year. Did you notice the 'counter option' we were running? Josh would get the ball and turn to the right (or left) and quickly turn around and run the option the other way.

-Nesbitt looks healthy. I'd love to see him rush for ~90 a game; that would be absolutely huge for us this year.

-A-backs running wide open down the field. Those are going to be touchdowns. Josh threw the ball perfectly on those routes too; we just need to do a better job of catching the ball.

I remember us running the counter option very very sparsely last year but it was a jumbled mess because the defensive line shooting through the gaps and disrupting everyone's footwork. Josh's footwork looked "crisper" on Saturday. With the number of times the counter was called, it looked like CPJ wanted them to get more practice with it.

It seemed we ran the counter more than the veer. Commented to my friends on this. Not even sure we ran the veer at all in the 1st Q and ran the counter multiple times.

I thought Josh looked good on most of his throws. One of the 'overthrown' balls early was due to the receiver tripping after the ball was thrown. He also hit Allen right in the hands (his hands were in the wrong position for a crossing route). Our team probably left another 80 yards passing out on the field due to poor catching.
