Unfortunately, Averin Collier has committed to Syracuse.

However, we have contacted another RB from Texas named Troy Vital. Troy is a productive Back with good physical tools to polish up with college coaching. He is a hard runner and appears bigger than his listed measurables. He has good thickness and bulk for is frame. He should be able to get bigger and stronger in college. I could see him playing at around 215 lbs. He is a patient runner with sound vision and shows a good burst when he finds a whole. Lacks that second gear for homeruns, but he will probably develop into more of a one-cut-and-go downhill runner in college. Troy was a 4A First Team All-State selection and rushed for over 2,000 yards and 19 touchdowns. He is currently committed to Houston.

Troy’s teammate Robert Griffin is rated the #3 Dual-Threat QB in the country by Rivals. He is a wonderful athlete with great size and solid arm strength. His speed is very good and he is elusive enough to be a threat in space. He shows good ball handling on play action passes and throws a soft, catchable deep ball. He needs a little development with his foot work and delivery, but he has all of the physical tools and the arm strength to make all of the throws. The bottom line is that you take an athlete like Griffin. Even he didn’t workout at QB, he would still make an outstanding WR prospect. Robert was a Class 4A All-State honorable mention. He rushed for 1,267 yards while passing for 1,374 yards. He decommitted from Houston and is now verbally committed to Baylor. He intended to run track at Houston. Robert owns state marks in the 110-meter hurdles (13.55) and the 300-meter hurdles (35.33).

Alright, just stole another unranked recruit...this one from Houston, guess that is a step up from stealing recurits from MTSU.

Who says the TO can't get talented recruits!

If all you care about is star ratings, you are probably going to be disappointed with recruiting.

Nevertheless I will bet you that this class winds up a LOT better than the 2002 class. They'll be better in recruiting rankings, have a lot more impact on the flats, and GT's record will be better their junior and senior seasons.

Macon,

PJ doesn't give a damn about stars next to a kids name. He knows the type of player that will fit his system and that's who he will recruit. There are four and five star kids playing DII ball right now because they really weren't as good as some recruiting services guys who never played football said they were. You read about these kids transferring all the time.

Let the man do his job. He knows what he wants. If it doesn't work, then you can talk about it. If it does, maybe you'll start to like the offense after all. Right now you want what you've had. Unfortunately it wasn't working.

I think you were a big Hatcher guy. Me too, but I watched Hatcher go completely away from his calling card this season at GSU. He ran the ball from an option set and GSU lead the nation in rushing. They only threw the ball an average of 15 or so times a game. The offense was anything but boring.

If PJ has a QB capable of passing effectively, he will throw the ball quite a bit more, but he won't deviate too far from his bread and butter offense. The passing will simply be an additional part of it.

Give it a chance. You just might be surprised.

I'm just hoping that getting this RB is part of a larger plan to get the QB to come along with him, I saw where he is 4 stars but going to Baylor??...that would be a smooth move. Either way, I guess we need more RB's anyway since this offense seems to use a lot of RB's.
