Some reporting Rodriguez to Alabama

This guy is an idiot if he goes to Alabama.

He will be a rich idiot. I read that his deal at Bama is $22M over 7 years, whereas he is making about $1M/year at WVU.

A smart man takes the money and allows it to comfort him as his legacy plummets for four and a half years before retiring to Maui.

Not quite, but...

I'm reading $12MM over 6 years. It's a tough call with WVU being his alma mater, but I'd probably double my salary.

Yeah, but what's the buyout? Everyone knows that's really the important part of an Alabama contract.

Good call - the way things are going lately, that's like Alabama's version of the first round signing bonus for NFL 1st rounders. It's all you're guaranteed!

Whoever heard of a coach leaving their...

Alma Mater for Alabama just for a little money, prestige, & a chance to win a MNC.
Has it ever happened before?;)

Yeah, perhaps he should place a phone call to one Mr. Bill Curry and discuss the pros and cons of leaving your alma-mater for Bama country. He might consider installing brick-proof windows in his new home. :bricks:

With the success he's had at WV why not try it at Alabama? It's a no-brainer! Some people thrive on challenges like this. I think the odds of his success are pretty high.

I never got how people in the athletic world could make moves across in the country for more money when they already have plenty of it. It's not like RR was begging on the streets of Morgantown.

I also don't know how he could ever leave his alma mater. If I was the GT coach, we would suck and we would go 0-12 every year. Also, I would never think for the slightest second about leaving GT for any job out there.

Yeah. If I were to coach Bama, I'd make sure it cost them double to fire me early.

Well the miami herald reported yesterday that Bama offered Nick Saban a 10 yr $50 million contract with a $7 mil signing bonus and he turned it down. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/16191249.htm If this report is accurate, them they must have offered RR lot. Wonder if he'll run that read option on every play at Bama, would be interesting to see how the good ol' boys of old-fashioned-SEC-I-formation-pound-the-football feel about his style if it doesn't pay off.
