Georgia offensive lineman Clint Boling was arrested for driving under the influence in Alpharetta on May 14, according to police reports.

Boling, 19, was pulled over after erratic driving on Ga. 120 at 1:30 a.m. Boling told the police he was not drinking and refused to take a breathalyzer.

Georgia's athletic department policy mandates a player who has been involved in an alcohol related arrest miss 10 percent of the next season. That would mean Boling would miss at least the opener against Georgia Southern.

If Boling is found guilty, the University's student code of conduct dictates that he will be put on probation for the next school year. Another alcohol-related arrest in the next six months will result in suspension from school.

Boling played in 12 games and made 10 starts for Georgia as a true freshman. He was named to the All-SEC Freshman team following the season. Boling is a projected starter for the 2008 season.

not to mention he is under age @ 19....Man sometimes you just get the feeling that that snow ball Saint Richt been pushing up that hill is starting shift directions & may begin to roll down hill.....
Thing is you got to maintain character & watch the personality of your players as well....Starting to resemble ol Bobby Bowden @ FSU...

Oh dont worry worry richt is a VERY strict coach. I heard that he may have to sit out a whole bunch of time. Maybe one play against gsu.

You cannot put a bunch of thugs and criminals on a football team and expect there to be no crimes committed.

At the Caravan talk last night, one of the comments from the audience was about how good so far our teams have been in terms of no police news versus other schools in the state and neighboring areas. Rad gave some good comments that he never crows about the poor fortune of other schools, as he knows it is just a phone call away from him getting it---these are young kids and are learning to fly on their own. and occaisonally they will crash (Again paraphrasing)

"Starting to?" This is not new. CMR has quite the track record now.

It'll still take more for the media to shed negative light on the flawed character of the program. They've got their hands and mouths full making sure there's plenty of press for Richt kissing his wife and sending his team running and dancing onto the field against Florida (And pushing them off the field for doing the same thing against Vanderbilt) and the sheer genius of wearing a uniform that's a different color than the one you normally wear.

Matt Stafford is going to need to be caught drinking heavily and kissing another man.

Oh wait..

i wasn't aware that either were Student-Athletes

never mind. it's like talking to a wall.

For what it's worth, Atkins is appealing the dirty drug test and having his backup sample evaluated this week. It's not uncommon, by the way, for overseas teams to use fines and penalties such as those conbected to drug tests as a tidy little salary offset for US players in particular. A friend of mine from California played overseas for years and indicated that they (the teams) get back serious money through the exercise of selective fine application all the time.

You are completely clueless if you do not understand the difference between the two situations.

so why don't you explain it to him?

(This ought to be classic)
