it does feel like this is MORE than just CG interviewing. It is not unusual for an AD to want to change coaches.

It seems like rumors are rampant and there is a strange silence from all the reputable sources.

IF a change is made and the program suffers I would EXPECT wholesale firings then INCLUDING our new AD.

Braine brought us Hewitt and maybe Rad can bring in somebody to better the football program.

Put down the wacky tobacky.

CCG ain't budgin'.

(fer less than 5 mil)

lawbee, you are so unbelieavably out of touch its pathetic. More than likely any coaching change is going to set us back initially. All pretty much do unless you are Urban Meyer. But now you want one of the best most competent people that GT has hired run out of town if it does?

How is Dan Radakovich anywhere near responsible for this? Did Dan ask CG to go interview with Miami and Pittsburg, which are coincidentally the only two organizations CG has a relationship with?

You're a God Damn Moron to the upteenth degree. Your blinding loyalty to our Coach above GT is sickening. Dan Radakovich if anything has tried to be very taqctful and respectful to CCG, and lets be truthful...
CG is indirectly putting Dan Radakovich in a terrible position. Terrible.

I imagine that you would want DRAd to waffle and start trying to throw more money at CG when he already got a 5 year contract extension that was questionable. He hasn't done a damn thing to earn a raise. I think DRad is handling this very professionally.

I am not a fan of Gailey. But I also see the value of him staying with the program right now until DRad can get a firm feel for the job he is doing. If he leaves, 0-5 vs. UGA, terribler inconsistencies, and management decisions for positive change ONLY when something completely fails, WILL INSURE that I don't lose sleep over Gailey splitting.

I agree with you 100%

BOR you can keep your head up your ass as long as you want, but I will tell you I will be supporting the next GT head coach after CG leaves whether that is near or far into the future.

I have seen you waffle all over the place from support to complete condemnation for GT's coach..

If CG leaves today no one will want GT to go 14-0 more than me. I give GT my money and I purchase season tix which means I will be in the stands win or lose.

I WILL NOT apologize for supporting our coach and thinking that this process may turn out to be a Bill Lewis situation revisited.

Waffle? I would say your ability to "NOT apologize for supporting our coach" to wanting the AD fired if we run off CG is about as waffling as it comes. Especially when it is the Head Coach putting himself in this position and NOT the AD. Get your head screwed on right.

The difference between me and you lawbee, is you have held onto a belief since day one on our coach that you have not changed because you have a problem with being incorrect, as most lawyers do.

I reserved judgement on CG, often criticizing and prasing him along the way, until I thought I had satisfactory evidence to make an informed decision, which is something that you are obviously incapable of.

How many head coaches of some repute have interviewed for jobs lately? The only ones who haven't are either entrenched, senile , or not qualified. For example, Richt [entenched],Bowden{entrenched/senile], Paterno {senile},Tressel[not qualified],Rodriguez [an entrenched whore]--nothing wrong with Chan interviewing -I would if I were him, nothing wrong with an outside opinion of your ability.

It's not that he is interviewing. It's that he is doing it so publicly.
Did anyone in the public know that Petrino had even interviewed with Atlanta? If so, I wasn't aware of it.

Who knows how many currently employed college coaches have interviewed, but wanted to keep it mum for the sake of their current employer and recruiting class just in case it didn't work out?

I have been baffled by CG for 5 years now.

I feel the same way. Why is it so public? I'm worried that our verbal commits are going to see instability in the program and bolt somewhere else on signing day.

You're right about Petrino, I did not hear one thing about his dealings with the Falcons until he was actually hired by them.

This is just very, very strange.

fridgemover has made a few recent posts on stingtalk that you all should probably read.

You can choose to believe whatever you want but reality is CG is NOT controlling this process.

I don't have any argument with this. Actually, it would make plenty of sense.
I do not believe though that CG is bolting over the Darryl Richard issue. (that is the only scenario I have seen fro RM)

A post that did make some sense to me was by Ahsoisee on the hive.

At this point, I would be surprised if CG returns one way or the other. If he gets one of the jobs, we will probably never know the truth.
Of course that would fit in perfectly with the entire CG regime at Tech.

Do you have any first hand knowledge that CG is not controlling this? Or is this just an uneducated guess? Could it be that two organizations that he coached for before came calling, offering him much more money than he could make at GT(Hell Cowher gave CG is personal seal of approval).

Or is he being "forced out" by higher ups and an evil Athletic Director that does not like Chan?

Hmmm... which is the more logical choice.

It is now apparently obvious to me that your loyalty has NEVER been with GT first, its been with CG. You have done more spinning of negative plots as to why CG is interviewing that is usually unlike you at all. Now instead of CG going on the interviews and doing it publically that someone is forcing him to do this. It couldn't possibly be CG himself.

Give me a break. Your like a wife who just found out your husband has been cheating and you are trying to rationalize his infidelity. You're an idiot.

Worse yet, Chan isn't cheating on us. Anyone, and I mean ANYONE would look at the same thing. Sure I wish the Phins and the Steelers would hurry up and make their decision, but how is waiting it out Chan's fault if he's seriously up for contention?

And Gailey did not make it public, the papers covering the NFL teams broke the story and Chan and DRad have done everything to respond as tactfully as they can.

You have long since been in your face in your undying defense of Chan Gailey. Sometimes, blantantly ignoring evidence to the contrary. You've dug yourself a hole defending him. And now any chink int he Gailey armor and instead of just dealing with it, you have to find another route. You're pathetic.

It's Interesting ....

that DRad is being given such a vote of confidence when he has not made any big decisions yet on which to be judged. He has done the right things by opening up communication. But as far as replacing a coach with his own choice, or unveiling new plans to improve AA finances, there is nothing to judge him on.

CCG has a record. Tech people have come to conclusions based on that record. Some idiots like the Buzzoff crowd came to conclusions before he even got to campus. But for the most part Tech people have fallen on both sides of the fence based on his record. I can see both cases and under the rational for feelings on both sides.

But there is a universal admiration for DRad without any real rational that I can see at this point. Other than he is much better at public relations than his predecessor and the head football coach.

I'd like to see his new ticket plan and see some personnel decisions before I annoint him. I hope that then we will see that he was a great hire. Until then, the jury will be out with some optimism based on his resume and a good start in some areas.

cycle, you're correct and this next week is what DRad was hired for....

Let's hope he gets it right.

The only way to keep it quiet is how the Falcons did. It appears they made the offer immediately, so Petrino could accept before word got out. I don't think it's Gailey, but the teams he's talking with that have made this a public deal.

I agree completely. I hope that we will, in the not-too-distant future, be able to say he's the best AD in the country. Until he's proven it, though, he just LOOKS like a good one.

Big money meeting at the AA coming the 18th. It will be interesting what is said and done at this meeting.

We are in financial trouble at this time. This is D Rads moment to shine.

We are in financial trouble

Good gosh, this is true for every D-1 program and it just gets worse everytime an Urban Myer or a Saban is hired.

You might want to check out Florida and Texas's financial impact of their hires.
