I know, we just played terribly and can't be talking about how any other team is bad, but as a distraction from our "game" this afternoon and a way to make me feel like my voice is heard on this issue, I climb atop my soap box...
Does anyone else see how bad OVER HALF of the SEC is?!
Arkansas - awful... was getting destroyed regularly until they met...
Auburn - more awful... and still ranked until tomorrow (what a joke... SEC bias anyone?); their offensive woes are well-documented, and their defense looked suspect against [see above]
Tennessee - awful AND ugly. nice highlighter orange. and their running back is a pterodactyl (see here)...
Mississippi State - 38-7. awful.
Kentucky - ok, awful may be a stretch this early. their losses have been respectable, but good? not so much.
Ole Miss and South Carolina - the ACC teams of the SEC - one week they look like a championship contender, then they lose to Vandy... which leads me to...
Vandy - the feel-good story of 2008 is a bad (albeit less-bad-than-previous-years) team that has had the ball bounce its way a few times against some bad teams (see 3 of the above, and see what happens when it doesn't bounce their way)
This leaves Alabama, ugag, Florida, and LSU. Honestly, I'm not sold on LSU being great yet, but they're good at least.
Before today's display of inneptitude, I would have gladly put Tech up against any of the first 8 teams (maybe with the exception of Ole Miss or SCeast on one of their good days).
Sure, the SEC is good, probably still the best conference, but I wish some of their fans could see how truly awful some of those bottom teams are, even if their helmet has an AU or a big, highlighter-orange T on the side.
It's not good defenses shutting them down... their offenses are awful.
Ok, I step off my soap box now. I feel better.
