Who does?Good PKs just don't want to play in the TO.

Same. Honestly if we're looking at a long FG we're probably going for it anyway.I’ll take the guy who is automatic from 40 and less all day.
Until you need to make one from 45.I’ll take the guy who is automatic from 40 and less all day.
Or 53.Until you need to make one from 45.
Or 53.
And you can't expect to get a Harrison Butker more than once in a generation, if that. Generally speaking our coach is not going to send in our FG kicker (even Butker) if it is a 45 yard or more attempt. First will be the "draw them offsides" play, or a long, incomplete pass downfield or a punt.Butker was an absolute MVP. If he doesn't make that, that whole season would be remembered differently even if we still won the Orange.

Brighter? Like Roberto Aquayo? Watch Kansas City this fall and then tell me Butker was not a generational talent--at least with respect to kickers at Tech. Sisson, Manget, Butker, Anybody in between? But the entire kick team has to be there as well. Kicker can't kick without blocking, snapping, holding. We have a history of not having our ducks in order.Butker was awesome but "once a generation"?? Hardly.

There are plenty of Butkers all across college football, statistically. Guys who can make 6-8 outside of 45 yards aren't "generational" talents. We just need to recruit better. Wasn't Butker the result of CPJ deciding to pay more attention to special teams back after the end of 2012?
Butker was a sophomore when he shoved his foot up the mutts' ass. He is greatly missed but probably the easiest skill position to replace. PKs are usually a bit brighter than the other positions in football.
