Spring game

There's a new sheriff in town. We're all going to have to wait and see.

There were some reports about this year being different. We have special circumstances because we won't have many players this spring. That could prevent us from making it a game, if we don't have enough bodies to field two offensive and two defensive units.

Under Chan it was pretty much nothing. They just ran some plays for like twenty or thirty minutes...I remember my whole family came and they were really disappointed. I hope it will be better this year even if we can't field two whole teams.

I think it'd be cool if we had 2 team captains and they picked teams, like in a regular pick-up game in the park.

They could do it over the PA system, with microphones or whatever. Call their own plays. That would be totally awesome. It'd work with the offensive system too - since our playbook is so limited and everything's about reads.

I'll be extremely disappointed if its like that. After all, I am driving 150+miles :(

Well I think I remember you saying that you were going to go to the zoo too...it might be wise to have another backup plan also, like the aquarium. They definitely said at signing day that they were doing an actual spring game this year, but now everyone is saying this stuff about not having enough players, so who knows how it will work.

You and I must have been at different spring scrimmages. They scrimmage for about 1 1/2 -2 hours, swapping from #1 teams and #2 teams.

Yea, that was me. If all else fails, we might ACTUALLY take in the Braves game, even though we said we wouldnt.

Now THIS I could handle.

You're right. Instead of taking 30 minutes to run scripted plays, they stretched it over 2 hours.

I know the coach is crusty and says what he thinks and does what he needs to do without regard to what people may think about it and I like that but if he has an ounce of public relations savvy he'll do something interesting with it to whet the appetites of the most loyal of his fan base, since he's new.
