Ramblinracket.com says that Demetrius Jones will start against Tech Saturday, as expected by a lot of the folks on this board. Anyone in the loop care to confirm now that this information is "public"?

I think this is the obvious choice for ND because it gives them the opportunity to spread out our defense and gives us another wrinkle to get ready for. I also certainly expect CCW to keep his word and use multiple quarterbacks. But like demjackets has been saying, I have no doubt that Jon T. knows what's what and that our Jackets will be prepared.

I can't wait for Saturday.

poor guy... I almost feel badly for him. One stick by Wheeler.....

I'm no offensive masterind, but a mobile guy who can get out of the pocket has alot better chance against Tenuta. Tenuta eventually gets to pocket passers. If I'm Weis, I start Jones too.

It's hard to get away from a swarm. Team tackling will be in full force Saturday.

The guy is a redshirt freshman and his recruiting picture on Scout he has that deer stuck in headlights look. I bet our defense is drooling.

not sure about that. UNC's Durant was mobile and we tore him up.

A jr/sr mobile QB is MUCH different than a 1st year starter mobile QB. I would think it will be difficult for him to throw which will make ND one dimensional. Also our DB's is probably the weakest part of our defense.

Wake's throwing QB caused us problem b/c he showed patience and his receivers were able to get open late in the down.

If Tenuta can make the play happen faster that is advantage for GT IMO.

All of this depends on ND's OL versus our DL. If they cannot contain our DL then it will not matter who plays QB and what kind of offense they run.

This kid actually scares me the most out of the three. I remember Jones as a high school prospect. He was an ESPN 150 player, who was arguably the best dual threat QB in the QB rich class of 2006. Although his Scout 40 time, a 4.7, may not scare most, I have the feeling that he is considerably faster than that. In high school, Jones had the ability to make all the throws, he had outstanding natural athleticism, and was a tough kid that could make plays. Reports from the Spring did indicate that he was having a little trouble picking up the system, but that must be fairly well sorted out if they are going to start him. Hopefully, he will be too overwhelmed by blitzes and D-Line pressure to do much. I do wish that the game was at Bobby Dodd though. That way the crowd wouldn't fuel him. It will be a good game.

They'll use him in design rollouts, not count on him to scramble. Think UVA's Hagans.

Well start, because that's the model he'll use if he's smart. Identify the blitz with a presnap read, roll the other direction to neutralize those defenders, short passes to TEs, or WRs on hooks, etc. It's what works vs Tenuta. It keeps Tenuta honest, and unfortunately Tenuta's only response is and always has been "blitz more."

I dont think it matters who starts, both him and Sharpley will play...I think they both will look like a deer in the headlights....i knew it would come out public before the game and the ones who got my pm know now i wasnt blowin smoke.....everyone have a safe trip, im catchin my flight in a few hours
