Wow, we are still kicking tail in a bunch of stat categories!

National Rankings:

#1 in Net Punting
#1 in Kickoff Return Yardage Defense
#1 (tied) in Fumbles Recovered
#2 (tied) in Turnovers Lost
#3 in Sacks
#3 in Tackles for Loss
#5 (tied) in Passes Had Intercepted
#6 in Rushing Defense
#7 in Scoring Defense
#7 in Kickoff Returns
#9 (tied) in Turnover Margin
#10 (tied) in Fumbles Lost
#11 (tied) in Sacks Allowed


That's an impressive list. but unfortunately we are weak in all the major offensive categories except Rushing Offense (#22 nationally).
 
Every one of those stats are impressive. Very pleased with #2 on the list --what an improvement! Nice to be #7 in KO return yards as well.

Haha.

Unfortunately the passing game is a rather important part of football. It is nice to see us doing well in everything we don't suck at, though.
 
Sorry to be a negative nancy, but NONE of those are offensive categories :(

I'm not sure I've ever seen a unit on a team improve so much in one year. Credit to the coaches, players and that new kicker for sealing up a huge hole in our team last year.

I think our new KOS (Blair) is a major factor in this turnaround.
 
Hate to say I told you so, but I said so every week, once per week, last year, while everyone else on Stingtalk yelled about firing our ST coach.
 
the only stat that really matters-
3-2 on yr but only 1-2 in conf


otoh-under some things never change- Tech passing last in conf % ,first in fewest sacks on our QB and strong DEF
