Someone has pointed out that there was a mistake in the team record (of clemson) on the stats page.

THE OFFICIAL STANDINGS are computer generated and will always be right. These are listed under "current standings" in the game prediction section.

The stats are done manually through a spreadsheat. The individual score that shows weekly progress is PROBABLY always going to be right. Because this is done w/ data from the "current standings."

The team stuff and the favored stuff is done STRICTLY by hand and I have caught errors myself. But they are correctable. The stats are just aids to see how you are progressing. If you catch an error just email it to me @ gtfan@stintalk.com.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">How it looks to you is really irrelevant. I decide how and how long I test any software developed by us. Not you. And no, Im not going to remove you for voicing your opinion. If you want to look like a whining idiot, thats your right under our free speech policy and I wont stand in you way.

what about the other 6 errors? and those are just the ones i noticed off the top of my head

they have ALL been corrected but will not be posted until late tonight

The stats relating to USERS ARE CORRECT.

The team stats are done by hand and it is MUCH more cumbersome.

the stats are usually done VERY late at night.

We use to not have stats. I do make a GOOD FAITH effort to accurately tabulate the Team results.

However when you notice an error feel free to email me gtfan@stingtalk.com.

Since this is the first year it is a work in progress. I have developed better ways every week to keep the data.

great, i feel much better now.

is someone going to step up to the plate on the inconsistency in keeping people's names on the standings list? either take my friend off or put BeeStorm back on, but let's have some consistency. i don't think anyone should get special treatment.

I vote to take the Dawg off!!!

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">What are you whining about? The only reason I was on there in the beginning was to beta test the prediction software. Do you think I would allow myself to compete or potentially win a game I own and have control over? Apparently YOU would have been the first one to complain if I was sitting at the top of the rankings. If you feel you are getting shafted in anyway, please feel free to bow out. Of course your standings will remain when you do. I think that most people understand that this is something extra we are doing to make the website a little more fun. The STAT info is entered by hand so mistakes can rear their ugly little heads. You only need to point it out and gtfan will correct it. If I were you I wouldnt misspell any words in future posts.

To remove someone is cumbersome.

The USER STATS is a huge spreadsheet with all the columns are aligned alphabetically.

When you remove someone you have to realign the spreadsheet.

HOWEVER, if SOMEONE wants to be removed then they can email me from their email address and they WILL BE REMOVED.

Actually there are probably ~15 members who no longer participate in the competition.

Under the standings those people just float to the bottom.

We have had a total of 84 members participate.

BUT I DO NOT WANT TO REMOVE SOMEONE and then have them REENTER the competition at a later date, because I THEN HAVE TO REALLIGN THE DATA TWICE.

IF YOU THINK YOU MAY PARTICIPATE AGAIN AT SOME OTHER TIME THIS YEAR THEN DO NOT ASK ME TO REMOVE YOUR NAME.

I would be against removing anyone.

Im guessing later on in the season when its apparent that some wont win, they will be beating down the door to get out of the standings. In order to have winners, we are going to have to have losers. If you sign on to compete, its a SEASON-LONG competition, and you are still competing until the end of the season whether or not you make predictions each week.

i'll do my best BeeStorm. it didn't look to me like you were just "testing the waters."

you participated for four straight weeks, long after it was clear that the predictions software was working.

further, if you were just testing the program, why remove your name from the list after four weeks? nothing embarassing about just testing the program and then quitting. but to take your name off the list appears as if you didn't like your position in the standings after giving it a good try. this sounds like revisionist history to me.

also, if you were just testing the program, why not try out some wacky scores like 0-0 just to see what happens? from my memory, it was others who did the testing for you. your game predictions looked a little too much like someone who was competing.

if you want to remove me from this board for expressing my opinion, that's fine, but if that's your choice, you're no different than the other GT message board.

also, i wouldn't have any problem if you won your own contest. i know how the numbers work, and i could determine whether you won it legitimately or not.
