I’ll keep this open and bump it occassionly until Monday afternoon in case we have STers that aren’t able to vote on the weekends. Based on some feedback, Kiffin and Holgerson were removed because they weren’t realistic. Also, if I didn’t have your guy, you’re welcome to vote for “other.” All votes for Vad Lee, my mom, your mom, etc. should go in “Other.” But try to pick your top 4 candidates from this list.

Candidates Strongly Rejected By StinGTalk:
Whisenhunt
Healy
Hatcher
Mel Tucker
George Godsey

Candidates Removed From Consideration:
Kiffin
Holgerson

Tony Elliott. Read the man's story. Read the comments Dabo has about the man. Look at the success he has had. He's a man who can fight through adversity. I think he would unite and excite this fanbase.

I am not convinced Whisenhunt would be Gailey 2.0. He’s still in my top 4 with Briles, Satterfield, and Elliott. Is Clark out of consideration? I did not see him on the list.

Although, I'll take Art Briles as OC under Tony.

Great story, but no head coaching experience. I’m afraid he’d take the job and not demand enough from us. I want someone who is gonna make us give him the resources and staff he needs to succeed.

Sick of hearing this. Not a reason to hire someone.

I still included Venables in my vote, but he's made it clear he doesn't plan to leave Clemson while his son is there. Although there is a rumor he is in touch with K-State with Snyder stepping down

I think "Gailey 2.0" is an optimistic scenario for Whisenhunt. I am thinking more along the lines of Lovie Smith at Illinois.

Urge you to read all you can about Monken's turnaround story since his arrival at Army. I'm good w/NFL type knowledge in our ranks, ala Whisenhunt, but also can still remember vividly the NFL Grohs and Gaileys of the world as well. Elliott story a great one, but evidence of turnaround as a HC would be my number one qualifier for a new HC, especially when you overlay the similar challenges of Army and GT. Sounds like a nice fit. I think a "2020 version of the TO" would also play to the fanbase.

That said, i remember reading a great article at the beginning of the 2018 season about the TEN...yes TEN...completed passes that Army had in 2017 under Monken. I'm fine w/only ten, but know that the 73.6% of the anti-TO numbskulls would no doubt be adverse to that play balance, even if they don't know why....

...and yes, we surely CAN recruit better than we have in the past few years, and Monken seems to have taken the correct steps there, as well. Color me 90% Monken and 9% Elliott or Venables..and 1% VAD DAMN LEE!!. Just can't see the Whizzer at the Flats or any recruiting energy as a result. And we MUST get better recruits in a P5 conference or NO amount of coaching will get us over the hump.

What do you like about Whisenhunt? Serious question

NFL coaching experience, familiarity with the challenges at Tech, potential to bring in outstanding assistants, love for the Institute, and a fresh start.

I think the problem with bad coaches in the past who were Tech men was not that they were Tech men, but that they were bad coaches.

Can you add Geoff Collins to the pole?
If you like someone that isn’t there vote other and write in your vote in the thread, as you did. Anyone that we can halfway confirm GT is interviewing will be added to round 3

Think at least 3 of those mean nothing.

As for previous hires - that is the point . They were given cred because they were aware of the challenges (CPJ said every school has them) and for their live of the school.
