Herbstreit's source for the 'Miles to Michigan' scoop was none other than our beloved Interim HC.

It seems Les called JT to see if he'd be interested in moving if he jumped to the Wolverines. IHCJT leaked the story to Kirk supposedly in an effort to get DRad to commit to him.:eek:

Just kidding, actually I didn't know that. Where'd you hear that?
 
From what Hebstreit said during the Big 12 CG, it sounded like the source was at Michigan. Where'd you hear this?

Actually i did hear this one and it was reported as such on the radio yesterday. Herbstreit called JT a friend or something to the affect...

that's interesting...One could read alot into how that may have changed the sudden interest/sudden disinterest in some candidates we had in view. DRAD feels backed into a corner, wants to keep Def half of equation already solved...commits to JT and has to offer HC job with JT as part of the package. For an established HC(with a staff in tow), i.e. RE, or a current DC, this is a problem. For others, this is seen as a plus.
Possibly this relationship JT now has with DRAD commands his input as well. Why would DRAD not seek his counsel if it were so?

Good post.
I'm not so sure it was DRAD backed in a corner as much as JT covering his weak side. DRAD knows JT brings excitement to Tech football. I agree with your take- JT may be part of the evaluation package.

I am biased toward an HC from the OC side but I hope our new HC hires an OC and doesn't do it himself.

We find out tomorrow. Big day for DRAD....and us.
