If you'd have told me on Friday Georgia was going to post 51 points on the scoreboard against Tech I would have asked you how much Gin you had been swilling that morning!

That was ugly from a Techsters point of view. From the stomping on the G before the game to the Tech's linemen quitting mid-way through the first half - this was a Georgia Tech team that was both physically and mentally unprepared. There has been speculation on this board about the players quitting on you. Make no mistake, this was not the same team who played under O'Leary and the Fridge. There is no way in the world we could have whipped Tech this badly under O'Leary. Tech was undesciplined and employed a desperate game plan far too early in the game.

Tech has too much to offer young althetes for this to continue. I think Gailey and company will take stock at the end of the season and prioritize changes that must be made. It is only his first year, so it will take a couple of years to rebuild the program into his own image. Firing anyone at this point would be not be wise because it demonstrates a lack of confidence. Gailey needs to recruit an excellent class that addresses your needs and put this season behind him. Like I said, Tech has too much to offer. Take it from a fan that has waded through 20 years of underachieving talent. Tech will be back strong next year!

Thanks for the nice post. Hopefully, Chan will figure out what went wrong. It was very disturbing. Congrats to the Dawgs, you have a very fine team.

Appreciate the kind words but still it is salt in the wound.

I don't think Gailey fully comprehends what he has gotten himself into. This is not Troy State where you're happy with wins... we expect to win!

I would of never guessed we would get blown out like that. Everything Tech could do wrong they did. Georgia could make no mistakes.

Hopefully some coaching changes will be made whether that includes Gailey remains to be seen.

Dawgbyte,

Thanks for the kind post. I hope that you are right, but things certainly look very bleak right now for the football program. The lack of outrage and fire displayed from the coaching staff is what irks me the most. I really think that at the college level, one of the key ingredients is the ability to motivate and keep the players focused; our coach has thus far not shown much of an ability to do this save the UVA game. Let's hope he learns quickly or else next year and the years after will be as UGLY as the past Sat.

Perhaps Dawgbyte wants Chan to continue over here....If I were a Georgia fan I would sure want Chan at GT1

By the way, on 790 earlier today Vince Dooley stated that one of the best things about Ga. Tech football was that they were a well coached team.

Ouch

dawgbyte,
Congratulations on the victory. I don't believe I have ever seen Ugag play any better. But it would probably have made the victory a little sweeter for Ugag if Tech had actually put up a fight.

The two best things that ever have happened to the Ugag program in history are:

1. Being smart enough (or just plain lucky) by not hiring Chan Gailey.
2. Sitting back and watching TECH make the fatal mistake of hiring Chan Gailey.

These two things will pay dividends for Ugag for the rest of our lifetimes.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">This can be taken one of two ways; VD throwing a little slapstick humor out there, or the use of the word "were" being the important sticking point in his statement. Highly unlikely the latter was used as reference....just a little coach speak from enemy territory.

I can understand why Dawgbyte would want us to keep Coach Dull. He is stupid as hell and will be easy pickings for the dawgs for as long as this BUFFOON is around.

It is easy to forget about injuries. Tech has had a boatload of key injuries this year. When Hollis went down I think it really hurt your offense because it put a ton of weight on Suggs shoulders that he was not prepared to handle. The Jackets played very well against UVA and NCST, which is the very reason why I thought this was going to be a close game.

dawgbyte, thank you. Unlike a lot(most) Georgia fans you have class. That's something that was lacking from Dawg fans in my section at Sanford on Saturday.

It'll be interesting to see who is the first to go. I'm guessing Tommy Raye lost his job.

TECH did have a rough year. I'm glad Coach Gailey's a religious man because you'd need a pretty firm foundation to get through this year. A lot of lesser guys would've been on the bottle right after Tony went down.

I'm wondering if he'll pull the trigger on coaching changes or decide to give the whole staff another year to improve?
