I agree 100%. Georgia suffered with S&C under both Goff and Donnan and it showed on the field, as many teams were able to physically beat us up front. Richt's biggest coupe was convincing Van Halanger to leave FSU and come to Georgia. He has implemented an incredible strength and conditioning program at Georgia and it is providing dividends in the 4th Qtr. for us. Not only is the program adding strength and endurance to our players, but it's helping to mold them into a family. Matt drills are a miracle.

We have had a huge drop off in strength for the past 2 years. What is the cause? Aren't our players bigger? But they seem to be playing smaller.

Mustard, I don't think we're bigger but we certainly do seem to get pushed around.

Agree that we need to get better in strength, conditioning and size, especially on the lines. However, a major factor in us looking worn out at the end of games and at the end of the season is the lack of subs.
If there are any replays of the bowl games or you are watching other bowl games to come, watch the substitutions on the lines, especially the DL and LBs. In watching UGAG and FSU, I can't tell you how many times, guys were in and out of the game to keep them fresh. I think Pollack was out more plays than Thompson, their other DE; he may need more rest so he can wave to the crowd and do his dance. Enuff******
Point is that for years I have listened to our coaches stress the need, and observed other teams make substitutions during games to keep starters fresh for the end of games. At one point, it was our starters can compete with other teams, and our backups are getting closer.
Earlier this year, I talked to Gailey on his radio show and asked why Ather Brown had not gotten more playing time. The answer, and I was off the lines, was that Ather was a luxury and that he could play; but, who would you take out.
I wanted to say, but I was long gone, take out Wimbush, take out Fox for a series or a few plays ....
Unlike the pros, that have a 35 man roster, we have 85 scholarship athletes plus walk-ons. We can't just use the non-starters for injured reserves. How do they improve, how do they get experience? Blah, blah, blah, blah!!!!

Maybe we need to do what the Bear did in Bama's glory days. Start the 2nd string wear them out with the subs then bring on the starters and then blow them out in the 2nd half.
