ST's the only GT board that's worth a damn

Buzzoff's being run by some Nancy boy and his cohorts that can't take criticism of their high school level analysis. The are most assuredly not Engineers. Bottom line to post over there you need to follow the canned format:
Fire Chan, we suck & accept mediocrity, Fire Chan, everyone else is great, Fire Chan, our coaches suck, Fire Chan, the Hill sucks, etc. Add BS theme of the day in there somewhere.

There's a bunch of wimps & die hard optimists over on the Hive and their webnazis nuke every derogatory comment. You can't even discuss football, mention politics, or look at babes that aren't fully clothed like the Amish any more over there because of all the rules in place. It must take hours just to figure out how to post and then have it analyzed by a lawyer for appropriate content.

I used to get done running missions and use breaks when we had internet access from the 3 sites to see what's going on in Tech sports. Being stateside gives me a lot more time to websurf, but any more this is the only place worth visiting.

I appreciate all of you that keep the site going.

This sounds about like here, except that we also complain about other boards a lot :).

The only difference between here and the Hive is the language allowed here, and there are more pure Chan supporters there than on Stingtalk.

I think the comedy here is more rich. It's richer. The richness is of higher quality and quantity.

I still like ST better, but it seems like there's been a recent glut of new users drying to drag this board down to buzzoff's level.

maybee beestorm and gtfan should require references and proof of 'good standing' under the same handle on other boards?

Asimperson, you beat me to the punch. I couldn't agree more.

I really believe that most here are comfortable with a wait and see approach. Enjoy the season, leave alone the coaching thing and keep positively supporting the program.

That used to be enough here and the occassional coaching attack would just drift through.

It doesn't seem enough now for a small group of folks here. It reminds me of the similar group that started Buzzoff.
 
Stingtalk is clearly cooler than either of the other two because they haven't banned me yet.
 
I'm glad the bye week is over...we can get back to talking football again (well, most of us anyway).
 
I have never posted on The Hive or Buzzoff. However, with all of the talk about Buzzoff during the bye week I thought I'd try it out.

Indeed it would.

I understand the motivation for this board, indeed, it's the same way I run my own personal message board (minimal administrator/moderator interference).

That said, I think there's also a mindset in the GT online community that any amount of moderator action will lead you down the road to the out-and-out administrator abuse on buzzoff or the overbearing moderation of the hive. The reason why I never have to lift a moderator finger on my board is because I have about 20 posters - this style breaks down with several hundred active members.

I'm a member on several large, active boards on the internet and generally what seems to work best is moderators generally not interfering except for blatant trolls and sock puppets (one person using multiple accounts to bolster their own opinions).

Of course, this gets into some grand-ole "slippery slope" discussions like, "who defines 'blatant troll'?" and whatnot, but oh well.
